Milford Beach to Centennial Park via Kennedy Park and Return

Details

Greetings Everyone - The north shore beaches are always good for a wander and I don't think I have ever visited Centennial Park. So the idea is to start from Milford Beach and walk via the coast as much as possible to one end of Centennial Park. Loop round Centennial Park and return roughly via the same route.

On route we will go via Castor Bay and Kennedy Park. Therefore we can include some cliff top views out to the Hauraki Gulf and a bit of WWII history at Kennedy Park.

Centennial Park also includes a bit of a nature walk with tree identification.

Lunch will probably end up being on our second pass through Kennedy Park.

On the way back we will go to Campbells bay and see if the tide is far enough out for us to get round Red Bluff and back to Kennedy Park via a coastal rock hop.

Depending on people's energy levels when we get back to our start point at the Millford Beach Reserve we can finish with an easy wander along to the opposite end of Milford beach and back.

Duration: About 4 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 12 km.
Difficulty: 2.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
What the Grade means
Low tide: 3:53pm

Toilets: At the Milford Beach Reserve, Kennedy Park and Campbells Bay
Cost: $5 for New World Car Poolers

PLEASE: No smoking, animals, children or guests.
