New Year’s Day Hike
Details
Whether you’re going all-in on New Year’s resolutions or just want to start the year with a breath of fresh air, let’s keep it simple: it’s time for a hike! No need for fancy gear—just show up, lace up, and enjoy some outdoor fun. Take on a small challenge and chat with someone new along the way. It’s the perfect way to kickstart your year with a bit of exercise and good vibes!
About the Hike:
We’ll be hitting real dirt trails that wind through sandy stretches and a few gentle hills, covering 3-4 miles. It’s just the right distance to ease back into things after the holidays and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Hike Difficulty:
This hike is suitable for all experience levels. We’ll keep a pace of about 21-25 minutes per mile, adjusting as needed for the group. If necessary, we’ll split into two groups, but rest assured, no one will get left behind. We regroup along the way to keep everyone on track.
Dog-Friendly for Responsible Owners 🐾
Bring your furry friends, but don’t forget the essentials: water, poop bags, and a short leash. For everyone’s comfort, keep your dog close and ask before letting them interact with others.
Adults Only:
This hike is just for the grown-ups! Our club is focused on adult outdoor adventures, so leave the kiddos at home and enjoy some quality adult time in nature.
What to Bring:
- Sturdy Shoes: For navigating the natural trails.
- Layers: You’ll warm up during the hike, so dress in layers you can shed.
- Water: Stay hydrated, and bring some for your dog if you’re bringing one.
- Snacks or Lunch: We’ll find a great spot to picnic after the hike.
- A Chair: Perfect for kicking back post-hike.
- Sun & Bug Protection: It’s always good to be prepared.
Where to Meet:
Meet us at the Rally Pavilion at the Running Center. Find it on the map here.
Fees:
The hike is free, but there is a $2 parking fee for the lot. Make sure you pay to avoid a ticket.
Take a small step toward a year of adventure and join us on the trails. Let’s make it a great start! 🥾
Please allow time to find parking. There is a chance you’ll have to park in the South Picnic Lane Lot.
