SUMMARY
The UK Biobank is a large health database and research resource containing anonymous genetic, lifestyle, and health data, as well as biological samples, from 500,000 people in the UK who were recruited between 2006-2010 when they were aged 40-69 years.

It is one of the most comprehensive databases of its kind and is available to approved researchers worldwide who are working on health-related studies that benefit the public. The UK Biobank is helping scientists make progress in understanding, preventing, diagnosing, and treating serious illnesses like dementia, cancer, heart disease, and stroke.

SPEAKER
Adam Lewandowski is the Deputy Chief Scientist for UK Biobank and is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Science at the University of Oxford. He is responsible for helping develop the scientific strategy for future enhancements to the UK Biobank study.

Time: You can arrive from 7pm for a 7:30 start.
Format: Usual format is 45 min talk followed by 45 min Q&A.

Liquid refreshments are available at the bar.

2. You respond by requesting a registration to attend live
3.. If you are not able to attend please advise
4. You attend at Henley Hockey Club
5. If we cancel, the notice will go to those who registered

TIMING AND REFRESHMENTS
Please arrive from 7pm for a 7:30 start. Usual format is 45 min talk followed by 45 Q&A. Liquid refreshments are available at the bar.
Admission is free, but the organisers ask for a voluntary contribution from about £2.

𝗗IRECTIONS:
If coming into Henley along the Reading Road turn right at the roundabout towards Tesco, then first left and left again into the hockey club car park. The entrance is near the far end.
