Meeting #38: GenAI - How to Make a Do-EVERYTHING Assistant!

Details

We're delighted to welcome back one of our most-loved presenters, AWS's Danilo Poccia! We're once again grateful to the wonderful Bradfield Centre, which has been kind enough to host us.

Last session, we took a look at Bedrock and Amazon Q, as a gentle introduction to GenAI.

In this meeting, Danilo's going to show us how to use AWS's GenAI services to create an all-in-one chat tool that can:

  • Search and browse the web in real-time
  • Query Wikipedia for information
  • Perform news and map searches
  • Safely execute Python code that can produce text and images such as charts and diagrams
  • Compose long-form articles mixing text and images
  • Generate, search, and compare images
  • Analyze documents and images
  • Search and download arXiv papers
  • Generate and save conversations as text and audio files
  • Save files to the output directory
  • Track personal improvements
  • Manage checklists for task tracking

...which sounds pretty darn spectacular to us!

Here's the order of events. All times are GMT, and are approximate:

  • 1830 Doors open: snacks, soft drinks and mixing
  • 1900 Introductions, safety and parish notices (Jon or Steve)
  • 1910 First session (Danilo)
  • 2000 Break
  • 2015 Second session and Q&A (Danilo)
  • 2100 Networking and tidy-up
  • 2115-2130 All out!

See you there!
