Phantom Canyon Cleanup

We have scheduled a Phantom Canyon cleanup for October 5th.

We will be doing the upper Phantom Canyon again this year (starting just outside of Victor near the Battle Mountain Interpretive site - Hwy 81 and Phantom Canyon Rd.), if there is a change to that, I will post an update.

The meeting place will be the same as last year, Hwy 24 at mile marker 292 on the right side of the road across from the rock shop and ATV rental place at the top of Ute Pass (a mile or 2 past the traffic light and left turn to Pikes Peak). Let's plan on meeting at 8:00 a.m. to convoy the rest of the way or just meet us in Victor, whichever meets your needs.

This cleanup is in conjunction with National Public Land Days, so we will get T-Shirts commemorating the occasion from the BLM. The BLM will be providing our lunch.

As usual, bring all of your appropriate riding gear, rain gear, work gloves, water, snacks, etc. The more folks we get to help, the more we can get done. Please RSVP if you will be able to participate. The work is very easy, picking up trash along the road and cleaning up around the camping areas. The trash will be loaded into BLM trucks for disposal. This is the only opportunity to ride on Phantom Canyon Rd as it is normally closed to non-licensed vehicles.
