Workshop Highlights
In a spacious and comfortable private studio in Norwalk, CT, you'll embark on a three-hour journey that begins with a thorough exploration of the setup and essential techniques. Sheldon will lead you through the intricacies of high-speed photography, demonstrating how to capture breathtaking splash images right in the studio.
After the initial introduction, the real hands-on excitement begins. Bring your camera, and prepare to freeze splashes mid-air as you work with drops in real-time. You’ll leave with beautiful images to add to your portfolio, a new skill set, and the knowledge to set up an affordable splash photography studio at home.
What You’ll Need to Bring:
- A camera with a ‘Bulb’ mode capability
- Remote Shutter Release
- Tripod
- Patience and an open mind to embrace the unexpected – each splash is unique, with variables that can shift like magic
Lens Recommendation: A lens with close focusing, ideally around a 100mm focal length, is recommended for optimal framing. Standard zoom lenses, such as 24-70mm and 18-55mm, will also work for this workshop, but a telephoto lens (such as a 70-200mm zoom or a 105mm macro prime) is preferred for closer shots and enhanced detail.
