(Alexandria - Minnie Howard) Underwater Hockey Rookie Night

Underwater hockey practice at the Minnie Howard Aquatics Facility on Monday, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

In partnership with the City of Alexandria, we are bringing underwater hockey to our community! Participants will need to pay a daily admission fee or become members of the city’s recreation centers.

The pool is 25 meters with a depth ranging from 3.5ft to 12ft, perfect for our practices. You can find more details about the facility here.

### Additional Swimming Opportunities
Since you’ll be paying for a daily pass, you’re welcome to swim before our practice. My goal is to form a dedicated group that swims an hour (for now we will start with 30 mins) before practice and meets up during the week for extra swims. We currently have 4 lanes, and if our group grows, we can request more. The City will evaluate our program every six months, so it’s essential to have consistent participation.

### Practice Details

• Practice Day: Mondays
• Warm-Up: 7:00 - 7:30 PM (swimming and maneuvering)
• Individual Skills: 7:30 - 7:45 PM (stick skills)
• Tactics: 7:45 - 8:00 PM (small formation tactics)
• Game Play: 8:00 - 8:30 PM (modified game)

This practice is designed for team-oriented skill-building and will focus on the basics of underwater hockey.

### Pool Daily Admission Fees

• Child (0-4): Free (Resident) / $2 (Non-resident)
• Youth (5-17): $6 (Resident) / $7 (Non-resident)
• Adult (18+): $9 (Resident) / $12 (Non-resident)
• Senior (60+): $7.20 (Resident) / $12 (Non-resident)
• Adult Chaperone with Youth (not participating): $1 (Resident) / $4 (Non-resident)
