Wilsons Promontory National Park, often more simply known as Wilsons Prom or ‘The Prom’, is a spectacular peninsula full of dreamy beaches, wonderful wildlife, picturesque coastal walks and even some of the best hiking trails found in Victoria, Australia.
In its entirety, Wilsons Prom covers an area of around 50,000 hectares (500 square kilometers). So, there’s plenty to explore whether that be taking to as many of the excellent Wilsons Prom hiking trails as possible and spotting the local wildlife out in force as you go, or simply just relaxing on some of Australia’s finest beaches. Certainly, the hardest part of your visit will be summoning the effort to leave.You will need to book your own accommodation/camping site for this trip. The organizers will be on 6th Ave, campsite 215

Day 1: Friday - Mt Oberon: 6.4km 340m elevation gain.
3:00pm Visitor Centre (Shuttle to Telegraph Saddle)

This is a three night pack carry walk as follows:
Jan 18th Saturday - Tidal River to Oberon Bay 10km
Jan 19th Sunday - Oberon Bay to Refuge Cove 19km
Jan 20th Monday - Refuge Cove to Little Waterloo Bay 8 km
Jan 21st Tuesday - Little Waterloo Bay to Telegraph Saddle and bust back to Tidal River. 11km
Drive home.Optional return walk from Refuge Cove to Sealers Cove, 20km if time and energy allows.
This is a brilliant walk, camping close to some of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the country.
This trip is only open to members that regularly attend our events and have experience with multiday pack carry hikes.
You will not be able to RSVP to this walk via Meetups, only via talking directly to one of our leaders, hence make you interest known and we will attempt to confirm the attendees in early December.
Please read all of the following information before RSVP'ing.
Do not FOMO into any of the Eastern Hiking & Adventure events unless you intend to attend, i.e. check the date, the distance and complexity of the walk before joining that walk. Those members who consistently are last minute withdrawals, are no shows or disrespectful to any members or leaders will be asked to instantly remove themselves from that walk and will be removed from the group. All the leaders are unpaid volunteers who spend many hours of their own time researching each walk to the best of their abilities at no cost. The organizers will, to the best of their abilities, attempt to ensure that no one is left on the waitlist (within reason) with priority given to those loyal members who regularly attend walks and provide an enjoyable environment for others.Fitness Level:
