Friends of Greenwood Toastmasters | Sharpen Your Elevator Pitch

Take your communication skills to the next level through the Toastmasters education program and the Elevator "Pitch Tank". Our one-hour club meetings are designed to empower people to become the effective communicators and leaders they aspire to be.

Each one-hour meeting is divided into four parts:

1. Prepared Speeches: Projects that members have prepared and practiced in advance before the meeting;
2. "Pitch Tank": Members are called on to give a 30-60 second elevator pitch to answer preselected questions. Each elevator pitch will receive a 30-second evaluation based on a grading rubric.

*Examples of pitch tank questions:

A. "Tell Me About Yourself"?
B. An elevator pitch about your company
C. An elevator pitch about a product or service
D. An elevator pitch about how Toastmasters has/will help you
E. Other pre-determined interview-style questions

3. Impromptu Speaking Session: Extemporaneous speaking on virtually any topic off the cuff, this is called TABLE TOPICS;
4. Evaluation Session: Each area of the meeting, including prepared speeches, is provided verbal feedback. "Feedback is the breakfast of champions".

Note: We provide a written agenda for each meeting
