We are heading to Chinatown! 1.5hr waits, nearly impossible to get a resy but we got one! Kisa, short for kisa sikdang (also spelled gisa sikdang), or “driver’s restaurant,” is a homage to Korean diners that emerged in the ‘80s, catering to taxi drivers. Unlike “C as in Charlie”, where shots flow freely, this isn’t a drinks-first restaurant. It’s more about a satisfying meal for a good value. The follow-up restaurant – the only kisa-style diner in NYC – comes from C as in Charlie partners, David JoonWoo Yun and Steve JaeWoo Choi (who were born in Korea and moved to Atlanta when they were kids), joined by Yong Min (YK) Kim. The 36-seat spot echoes kisas in Korea, with its vintage TVs, wall-mounted fans, Korean calendars, and a coin-slot coffee machine that dispenses (in this case, free) coffee for drivers on the go. Please be ON TIME! 😊
Baek Ban, a traditional Korean meal comprising of rice, soup, and banchan, is a staple at Kisa Sikdang (taxi driver's restaurant) that is easily accessible by anyone to enjoy a hearty meal with a swift service.

TWO MICHELIN STARS ⭐️⭐️ (KOREA)
4.8/5 on Yelp, 5/5 on Google (PERFECT SCORE!!!)
We are heading to K-Town! Let's go before accolades roll in and prices get jacked! Joo Ok is a fine dining restaurant founded in 2016 by Chef Shin Chang-ho. Translating to ‘threading precious jade marbles,’ Joo Ok brings together the freshest seasonal ingredients and Korean staples in harmony.
It’s one of Seoul’s most critically acclaimed restaurants, where the Michelin-starred tasting menu of modern Korean cuisine revolves around the restaurants housemade mother sauce, jang. And it should be noted — this isn’t a second location of the restaurant; it’s an original. Chef Shin Chang-ho closed the restaurant in Seoul and moved it specifically to New York’s Koreatown!!! PLEASE BE ON TIME!!! 😊

"Once you step in the interior is beautiful and inviting! (I liked that you could see what each table ordered from the mirrors on the ceiling)
Our favorites were the Thai beef tartare and the steamed pork belly with bamboo/mok nor mai. Two must order dishes if you’re a spice lover!
TK was our server and he gave us really good recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner; will definitely be back soon!" -Peggy L (Google)MICHELIN PLATE 🍽️ (2023)
