ABOUT THE EVENT
The idea is very simple: We will walk and take pictures, just for fun and to connect with fellow (amateur) photographers. All level of experience with photography are welcome! At the end of the event, we can go for a bite together (tbd on the spot).Your event host is a local who knows the nuts & bolts of this city, and a skilled photographer who will help you make the most of this event. Enjoy this adventure!
This trip is a photography-oriented event but open for a general audience with minimal skills in photography who want to experience the city in a new way while make new, authentic social connections.
Bring any camera you like, and take your shots at each stop and during your train ride! Post your best shots on IG tagging our community (@Jakarta.friends.creatives) and we will repost!Note: This trip requires a train card to enter the station with a minimum deposit of about 15k IDR. You can buy the card directly at the station!

ABOUT THE VENUE
This event will take you to Lapangan Banteng Square, a popular public park in the centre of Jakarta, where all the dreams for an extravagant port city of Batavia started. To register, just click “Attend”! There are a few simple rules:- We kindly ask attendees who cannot manage to join to update RSVP at least 24 h before the event as a courtesy to other attendees and event organisers.
- Be on time! Don’t be early! The event starts at the indicated time, and we cannot accommodate latecomers. Latecomers will need to find the whole group once the tour started
- People in the waitlist cannot attend, and are encouraged to check a few hours before the event if they got a spot
- Repeated no-show (3X) without updating RSVP will be removed from the group.

WE HAVE A MEMBERSHIP FEE. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Since September 2024, our community has a membership fee of 200k IDR valid for 365 days after payment. Membership fee is offered with a promo discount to new members and first-timers, who can become members for 120k IDR/year. First-timers can decide to attend one event for free and see if they like becoming part of this community.Membership to both Jakarta Friends and Jakarta Creatives is offered for only 220k IDR/year. Membership gives access to all events plus exclusive perks available only to paying members, like for example our Give Away Birthday Celebrations with lucky draw. To many events, attendees can bring a +1 for free.
To all members we guarantee to keep organizing plenty of events. You will receive a full refund if the group closes down, or if there’s no event happening in three months.

ABOUT THE EVENT
Friday night is fun night! Let's have dinner together, and then Karaoke!We will meet for dinner at Urban Forest Cipete, and decide together where to eat. They have pizza & pasta (Solo), Steak, Indonesian and Western cuisine. Around the corner there's plenty of Warung for small of quick bites, too.
After dinner, perhaps at around 10 pm, we will move to Karaoke Happy Puppy, just around the corner (walking distance), and get a room for us. There won't be any reservation placed for dinner or Karaoke, as no-shows always make organisation different. Don't be that persons! If you register and cannot come, please update your RSVP for other people to take your spot, and to facilitate organisation. Repeated no-shows will be kicked from the group.
You can arrive anytime during dinner, and decide to join us without eating, if you prefer not to. Please order at least one drink as respect to the venue. Once we got our Karaoke room, you won't be able to join us anymore. Newcomers are particularly welcomed! Come alone or with a friend or partner. There won't be a shared bill. Everyone will pay what they consume, and we will share cost of Karaoke equally.

Urban Cipete Forest is a nice urban area with restaurants and lots of green. Happy Puppy is a family Karaoke with plenty of rooms. ABOUT THE EVENT
So, you want to write? Then shut up and write! Writing is 0.01% "inspiration" and 99.99% getting down to it.We will meet for a 2 hour writing session at Kios Ojo Keos, a lovely book store and art space with coffee. It doesn't matter if you are an established writer or if you are picking up pen and paper for the first time.
Just show up, get down to it, and start writing. Everyone will be working on their own thing, and we won't talk during writing. If you need some prompt or suggestion on what to write, I'll be happy to give you some ideas.
After the 2 h session, we will switch off our laptops and close our notebooks (but if you want to keep going, feel free!) and chill down. We can also share each other texts and give feedback, if that's something someone would like to do.
The rules of the game:
- We aim to start together in order not to disrupt the process for everyone. Please be on time.
- No talking at the table during writing! After arriving at the table, we will focus on our own writing
- You can take as many breaks as you want of course
Don't be late as we want to start writing together, and please do update your RSVP at least 24h before the event if you cannot come, else you will take away a spot from a person in the waitlist. Don't be that persons! Repeated no-shows will be kicked from the group.
