What we’re about
We are a friendly, upbeat walking group with members typically aged 30s-60s, providing a mixed programme of walks every weekend, as well as social events, weekends away, and other activities.
We are part of the national Ramblers, so for a one off yearly fee of £38.50 you can come along to any of our events. We hope that once you have walked with us a few times you will be tempted to join us as a member of the West Kent Walking Group
For general enquires about the group contact us by email at: [email protected]
You can get full membership of the group by joining the Ramblers' Association at: Join the Ramblers ( when asked to choose group select West Kent Walking Group). By becoming a full member, you'll get to hear first about weekends away, meals out, extra events for Ramblers Members that aren't on the Meetup programme, plus you'll get a 15% discount at Cotswold Outdoor stores, 5% off at Cottages4you, a discount on HF walking holidays, as well as a quarterly Ramblers mag, and full online access to the Ramblers database of walks across the country.

See all- Bev and Julian's The Winter’s Trail walk around Westerham, 9 miles, moderateHosey Common Car Park, Westerham
Moderate 9miles /14.5km Ascent 1349ft/411m circular
Please meet at Hosey Common car park, TN16 1PL (which is nearby but across the road so use w3w: notice.jazzy.love) at 09.45 for a prompt start at 10.00am. Our moderate 9 mile circular route takes in Westerham, Limpsfield Chart, Crockham Hill and Chartwell and we will finish just before dark around 4pm.
This fabulous walk combines the grassy meadows facing south over the Weald at the Kent-Surrey border with the beautiful woodland of Limpsfield and Hosey Commons. Most of this hilly terrain is firm and easy but several places are very wet, muddy and slippery, so decent boots are essential with good grip and ankle support. The stile count is average and the walk is fine with a dog although a lead is necessary both for livestock and walking along roads which is unavoidable in places. Bring a picnic lunch and Christmas jumpers are encouraged as it's that time of year!NB: There is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers Assoc. members to help cover our Meetup costs. Please help the walk leader by bringing the exact change.
Ramblers members are welcome on any of our walks, but we would still encourage you to RSVP on Meetup. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Ramblers member, you can attend - just let the walk leader know you are coming by adding a comment 'Coming as a Rambler'. You will find the start location via our website
