2025 Lake Tahoe Rim Trail Backpack

*** This trip is likely to replace our 2025 Banff trip, which is probably moving to 2026 due to a fire in the Banff area ***

We are planning a 2025 trip up to backpack a portion of the Lake Tahoe Rim Trail. The dates are not locked down as we have the 2025 Vancouver Island West Coast Trail trip. Once the WCT trip dates are set, the dates for this trip will get set with at least a few weeks in between. At any rate this trip will not happen until most of the snow on the TRT trail clears and that is usually the first or second week of August. The exact dates will get sorted out in the Messenger chat.

The entire trail is 174 miles and we will do about 70 of it in 5 days on the trail. As usual we will arrange the logistics to make it work.

We organize on Facebook/Facebook messenger, so you do not need to use Facebook, but you must be able to use Messenger. When you join a chat for an event, you will understand why.

• Liability Waiver - Before you RSVP to an event you must have signed our liability waiver at least once

• RSVP Courtesy - by attending a day hike you certify you agree with it
• Backpacking Trek Expectations - by attending a backpack you certify you agree with them
• Day Hike Expectations - by attending you certify you agree with them
• Most events are organized via Facebook Messenger. We don't care if you use Facebook but for most trips (including all overnight trips) you need Messenger to participate. If there is a Messenger chat for a trip, being added to the Messenger chat is the actual go list.
• Many of our trips use a waitlist. Please add yourself to it. Here are the best way to get to the go list!

(It must be signed before you RSVP. You will not have the opportunity to sign at a trail head and we do not have paper copies. If you signed the liability waiver for a past event with this group, you don’t need to sign it again. Not participating with the waiver is grounds to be removed from the group.)
