Fork is committed to sourcing many of its key ingredients from local Boise and northwest U.S. farmers, ranchers, bakers, distillers, brewers, producers, and cheese makers. Fork's owner, Cameron Lumsden, has been a chef in Boise for 24 years. Through his Fork restaurant, he works to make the buzzwords "local," "sustainable," and "handcrafted" mean something. Fork has won the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for years.

**LOCATION** --The restaurant is located on the corner of Idaho Street and 8th Street, at 805 W. Idaho Street.

**DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS**: Take the I-84 Connector, turn left on Capitol Blvd., turn left on Idaho Street, then look immediately for the entrance into the parking garage.
**NOTE**: State Street at 8th Street is closed due to construction.

**PARKING**:
Garage parking is within one block of the restaurant

* At the "Capitol and 8th Garage" - use the entrance on Idaho Street (between 8th and Capitol Streets). Don't forget to take your parking ticket with you, since you need to pay it at the payment kiosk on the garage's ground floor when you return back to your car. (Note: phones will desensitize your parking ticket if placed in your purse or pocket near it.)

**BUILDING HISTORY**
Fork is located in the "Boise City National Bank Building," of Richardsonian Romanesque Revival style architecture. The exterior of the four-story building is made of sandstone quarried from Table Rock in the Boise Foothills. These sandstone walls are twenty-four inches thick.

The original building was built in 1890-1891. In the 1900s, three floors were added to the original one-story structure. The bank trustees originally asked for the bank to be built for $13,000, but it cost $40,000 by its final completion. The building at one time had marble teller cages, ornamental plaster ceiling beams and cornices, marble-encased columns, and marble floors. There are still some of these elements found in the building. On May 17, 1928, the Boise Trolley line was removed from next to the building.

The Boise City National Bank closed on August 1, 1932, due to the Great Depression. Four days before the bank closed, there was a run on the bank. The large vault in the basement was sealed the day the bank was closed.
