What we’re about

GROUP CHARTER AND GROUND RULES

This group is for women ages 50 + only. Our members are positive, accepting women who like to enjoy arts-cultural-social activities with other active women, such as going to museums, plays, restaurants; taking walks and playing bocci; and participating in our book club. This group is open to all women — without regard to race, ethnicity, country of origin, religion, or political leaning. You are asked to avoid discussing controversial topics such as politics, vaccinations, religion, and so on at our gatherings so that all feel welcome. FYI: Discussions comparing and contrasting Idaho with other states has resulted in hurt feelings, too.

Because our members are 50 years plus, FFFO50 events are open only to CoVid vaccinated members. Please check with your own health care professional about attending Meet Up events, especially if you have special health circumstances or concerns. FFFO50 is not responsible for attendees’ safety.

For the group's safety
--Do NOT attend any FFFO50 event if you have been directly exposed to someone who has had CoVid symptoms or who has tested positive within the last ten days.
-- Do NOT attend any event if you feel in the least bit ill (ie. fatigued, sore or hoarse throat, cough, fever or chills, or ill in any other way), even if you have had a symptom for more than ten days and believe it is caused by a chronic, non-communicable condition.
Our members have successfully prevented flu and CoVid outbreaks among the group by following these guidelines.

EVENTS ARE OPEN TO MEMBERS ONLY. Sorry, no guests, husbands-boyfriends, or pets.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

PROFILE NAMES - When joining, be sure your profile includes a first name and last name initial so there aren’t multiple members with the same name.

PROFILE PICTURES - Pictures must show your full face. Pictures from decades past, in a distant view, or with other people aren’t acceptable. We use pics to tell people apart when they have similar names and to help us find members at public events.

RSVPs AND ATTENDANCE AT EVENTS
CASUAL EVENTS -- Members may cancel out of coffees, walks, bocce and other non-reservation events close to the start time. Check the event posting details for more info.

EVENTS WITH "HARD DEADLINES" -- If you cancel or don't show up for an event AFTER the "hard deadline" specifically stated in the event's information paragraph, your membership may be removed from the group for one month or longer, depending upon your attendance history.

IF YOU BECOME ILL -- If you are not feeling well, please cancel as soon as you recognize you are falling ill, the earlier the better, so that a person on the wait list who replaces you receives as much advanced notice as possible. NOTE: If you claim illness multiple times within a year, your membership will be suspended.

NAME PLACED ON WAITING LIST -- If an event is fully booked, feel free to register anyway so that your name is automatically placed on a waiting list. There are always cancellations.

  • If you make other plans before the cancellation deadline, please cancel your registration so that others move up on the wait list.
  • Be sure to check the attendee information at the cancellation deadline to determine if you are now listed as an attendee. If your name moves to the attendee list, you will be expected at the event.
  • BUT, if someone cancels late and your name moves to the list of attendees just two or three hours before an event, you won't be counted as a no show if you can't make it.

RSVP'ing -- Please do not RSVP "to hold a place." Check your calendar and take the time to determine if you really can go before clicking to RSVP for an event. Once you RSVP, please place the event on your calendar so you don't double book later.

IMPORTANT INFO -- Read all of the event information so that you know where to meet and important details about the event, such as whether attendees need to bring anything to the event. Members are highly encouraged to check the comment area under an event an hour or two before the event, especially for the Greenbelt walks, in case there are changes to the event. If there is ever confusion finding each other at a public event, we will communicate by text or in the comments area under an event. (Feel free to email Donna any time with your phone number so she could reach you in an emergency. - donnam676 at g mail dot com)

PURCHASING, USING PLAY TICKETS WITH THE GROUP -- Donna purchases a block of season tickets to the Broadway in Boise, Shakespeare, and Boise Little Theater plays when these tickets come available each year. Those who want to participate send her their payments for the season tickets using the Venmo app (which is run by Pay Pal). During the season, if a participating member can't attend a particular event, she'll let Donna know, who will inform other members about the availability of a single play's ticket and act as an intermediary to facilitate payment of the ticket from the buyer to the seller. Tickets may not be resold to non-members.

NO MARKETING OR PROMOTING
• Marketing of any kind to the membership or organizer of the FFFO50 is expressly prohibited. If a member attempts to market any venture, including non-profits, businesses, social media sites, arts and crafts, Tupperware, cosmetics, or Scentsy, etc. to members, the marketer's membership will be permanently removed from the group.

AUTOMATIC TERMINATIONS

  • The posting of lewd or otherwise inappropriate text, pictures, or graphics will result in immediate termination in membership and a permanent ban of the poster's membership. A report will be made to the authorities.
  • If a member is rude to a server in a restaurant while there with the group or displays "Karen" behavior at an event, her membership will be immediately terminated.
  • If a member takes a picture at one of our events and posts it on social media without the express, spoken permission of every member who appears in the picture, her membership will be immediately terminated.

SECURITY
- This group is open only to women. For safety, our group is private, which means that non-members can't see your name, profile, or any details about our events other than a high-level list of events and dates.

According to Meet Up, with our settings, our site is secure. However, if you ever receive an unwelcome contact by anyone, either through a Meet Up message, a text, or an email as a result of being a member of the FFFO50, please immediately send a copy of that message, text, or email to Donna at donnam676 at gmail dot com so she can notify the Meet Up authorities. If the sender's identity is known, please send that information to Donna, too.

NEW EVENT IDEAS
• Members are encouraged to submit ideas for events in a group comment or directly to Donna. FYI: Restaurant events are held only at locations that allow reservations for a group of 8 or more.
• Members are encouraged to send feedback on events to Donna M.
