Welcome to the Central Texas Fly Fishing Community! This group is dedicated to bringing together fly anglers of all levels to share their passion for fly fishing. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, we welcome you to join us.
Our goal is to build a friendly and welcoming community where individuals can build their angler network for times when they don’t want to fish alone. We offer a variety of events and activities to help you improve your skills and connect with other fly anglers. Our events include beginner classes, casting practice evenings, Workshops on the Water, fishing excursions throughout Central Texas to get on the water, virtual fly-tying nights, various speaking events, camping weekends and even trips out of state.

Get away to the hill country for a weekend of camping and fly fishing the Llano River for some trout! This is the kick off weekend for WinterFisch, a celebration that starts the first weekend in December through the middle of March.
I will be organizing the Angler Education portion of this event for TPWD.
Anyone certified in Angler Education is welcome to contact me to be a volunteer, otherwise, this time is yours to do what you want. There will be plenty of stocked trout in the water to do some low pressure fishing.Dos Rios RV Park is located on the bank of the Llano River. Cabins, Airstreams, Glamping and Tent sites are available. Obviously if you have an RV, that is welcome as well!
An icehouse is located across the street with some great views. Mason is a few miles away if you want to go into town. If you don't want to pay to camp at Dos Rios, you are welcome to camp for free on "the island." A rarity here in Texas. Plenty of space and close to water.I have gone ahead and rented Tent Camping site 3. 4 tents or 8-10 people. If you want to claim a tent spot at my camping site, reach out to me.
FYI, when reserving a tent site, you will need to know how many will be on the site before RSVPing as it changes the price. $20ish a night per person seems to be the cost.

GRTU’s Troutfest TX is a nationally recognized event, and the largest of its kind in Texas, bringing out a crowd of over 4,000 people interested in fly fishing and preserving and protecting cold water fisheries. We host this three-day event right on our home water, the Guadalupe River, at Lazy L&L Campground located at 11699 River Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78132, and it includes a fund-raising banquet, a Movie Night and a weekend Expo.
