Startup Founder Showcase
Starting Oct 17, we will start to organize an offline Startup Founder Showcase meetup. In each of the Startup Showcase offline events, we will feature 1 or 2 investors or successful Startup Founders as speaker, and 4-6 earlier stage startups to present.
A group of judges composed of global leaders, investors, VCs, and successful entrepreneurs will select the one or two winners. The event is free to the founders.
Startup Founder World YouTube channel will host the video of the selected startup winner at its youtube channel, which has attracted over 200K views by founders, and investors. The startup will also receive free social media coverage from various channels and partners.
Nonlocal startups who have an interest in Austin Texas can showcase at the online Showcase on Oct 28 is powered by Startup Founder World, which has been organizing online and offline demo in Silicon Valley for more than 10 years. Startup Founder World is a global startup founder community rooted in Silicon Valley, has organized online / offline Startup Showcase / Demo over the last 10 years. Some of the past winners:

Rogelio De los Santos is the founding managing partner of Dalus Capital in Monterrey, MX, where he serves as director in multiple companies and has deployed more than $175M into 50+ deals since 2010.
A a timely juncture for cross-border US-LATAM investment opportunities, Dalus Capital focuses on large and growing market opportunities in Latin America stretching across the U.S. and China as supply chains and reshoring expands. The venture firm specializes in seed, series A and B investments in tech scaleups. Its VC funds are supported by the IFC and IDB, as well as pension funds, family offices, and high net worth individuals.
Close to university ecosystems, De los Santos is a Trustee of Tec de Monterrey and chairs its Entrepreneurship Institute; also participates as a member of the International Board of Advisors at the University of Texas at Austin. In the last decade, De los Santos has sponsored multiple ecosystem development initiatives like incMTY entrepreneurship festival (incmty.com), the ScaleUp Nation platform, and Catal1.5T initiative (catalist-initiative.eco).
De los Santos earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tec de Monterrey, a master’s degree in business leadership from Duxx, received an honorary degree from Babson College, and obtained an ecosystem-builder certificate from MIT.
Bio: Rebecca A. Fannin, host, Ask A VC show
Rebecca A. Fannin is an author, speaker and media entrepreneur known for for trend-spotting tech innovation and startup ecosystems. She is the founder of Silicon Dragon Ventures, an events and content group that publishes a newsletter and produces the online AskAVC show. At CNBC online, she is a special contributor on global tech trends and the Disruptor 50.
Her work has led to public speaking at Brookings, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, Oxford and many tech festivals including SXSW, and appearances on CNBC’s Squawk Box, BBC, CNN, and Bloomberg. Additionally, she is a venture scout at Alumni Ventures.
Her four books covering global innovation trends by region - Silicon Dragon (2008), Startup Asia (2011), Tech Titans of China (2019) and Silicon Heartland (2023) - have been translated in 10 languages, and she co-authored a textbook, Innovation in Emerging Markets (2016).

Jay Eum, Founding Managing Partner, GFT Ventures, Silicon Valley
Jay is a 21-year veteran venture capitalist with extensive investment experience at Samsung Ventures and TransLink Capital. He recently became Founding Managing Partner of GFT Ventures, which invests in category-leading early stage startups focused on frontier technology sectors including AI/ data science, automation/ robotics, fintech/ blockchain, digital healthcare and mobility. Jay started his venture capital career at the Silicon Valley office of Vertex Management, the Singapore-based VC arm of investment firm Temasek Holdings.
Jay received an MBA from Stanford University and M.S/B.S. in Chemistry from Seoul National University. Jay serves as Chairman and Board Director of the Asia America MultiTechnology Association (AAMA). Jay is also an active angel investor and advisor to several startups including Coupang (NYSE: CPNG), KiwiCo, Korbit (acq’d by Nexon), Korea Credit Data, Merit, Noom, SoFi (NASDAQ: SOFI) and Tapas (acq’d by Kakao)

Nan Zhou, Director, Qualcomm Ventures, Silicon Valley
Nan is an investor at Qualcomm Ventures focusing on AI application, IoT, and 5G connectivity in North America. Her core thesis includes AI in Retail, AI & automation in Manufacturing, IoT, and mobilities. Previously, Nan was head of U.S. investment at Baidu Capital and Baidu Changcheng Growth fund, responsible for establishing Baidu’s U.S. investment ecosystem. She built local VC and entrepreneur networks and sourced and completed investments including Cererbas, Kitt.ai, Velodyne, Falcon, Ripcord, MoreHealth, and Black Sesame.
An ex-Wall Street investment banker, she is familiar with both U.S. and the Asia Pacific (HK and China) capital markets, as well as M&A and IPO processes.
She is an MBA graduate of the Wharton School and received accounting and economics undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland.

Alvin leads global corporate development at smart mobile device maker HTC. A seasoned tech entrepreneur and executive, he also is a co-author of the soon-to-be-released book, Our Next Reality, How The AI -Powered Metaverse will Reshape the World.
Graylin has more than 30 years of business management experience in tech and business, including 20 years in Greater China and seven years as China president at HTC. Prior to HTC, he was a serial entrepreneur, having founded four venture-backed startups in the mobile and internet spaces, covering mobile search, NLP, AI, AR, big data, mobile social, adtech, and digital media. He also has held P&L roles at Intel, Trend Micro, and IBM.
