Thursday, October 3rd: Examining AI Safety Bill SB 2047 - What Impacts Would it Have?

Join our inaugural meetup, where we will examine the new "AI Safety Bill" SB 2047, authored by State Senator Scott Wiener. 113 current and former employees of prominent AI companies recently attached their names to an open letter supporting the passage of SB 1047. Governor Newsom has until September 30th to sign or veto the bill, which has already passed both houses of the CA state assembly.

What safety measures does SB 2047 contain? Why is there so much opposition to the bill when so many working in AI support it? We will examine the bill and its implications in an effort to understand what all the buzz is about.
