- Martlets Winter Concert at All Saints HoveAll Saints Church , Hove
Martlets are presenting 2 performances of their annual "Winter Concert" at the HUGE All Saints Church on The Drive in Hove. I've recently joined the Rock Choir, who are one of several choirs performing (as well as several professional singers), and I am singing in the early performance at 5.30 pm. I thought it would be fun to make it a Meetup event, and Alison has kindly agreed to host it (as I'll be busy singing!).
It's all over at 6.30 and we'll go for a meal afterwards if there's sufficient interest (probably just down the road on Church Road).
Book your ticket (£12/£10) for the 5.30 performance at:-
https://www.martlets.org.uk/winterconcert
and don't forget to let us know if you want to join us for a meal and a natter afterwards.
PS Don't forget to book soon - tickets for this will sell out FAST!"This year the Martlets Good Vibrations Choir will be joined by over 250 other performers from the Theatre Workshop, Rock Choir plus West End and TV local professionals, Jamie Kenna, Tom Bennett, Rebecca Bowden, Craig Whiteley, Claire Marlowe for two special performances at All Saints Church, Hove. - [ONLINE] Book Club - "The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store" by James McBrideLink visible for attendees
This month, we're reading Sandra's book choice, "The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store" by James McBride, 376 pages, 99p.
Sandra strongly recommends this novel, which looks really interesting, with plenty of themes to explore and discuss."In 1972, when workers in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, were digging the foundations for a new development, the last thing they expected to find was a skeleton at the bottom of a well. Who the skeleton was and how it got there were two of the long-held secrets kept by the residents of Chicken Hill, the dilapidated neighbourhood where Jewish immigrants and African Americans lived side by side through the 1920s and '30s.
In this novel about small-town secrets and the people who keep them, James McBride shows us that even in dark times, it is love and community - heaven and earth - that sustain us."Use this link to join:-
