No need to book, come to The Christian Centre between 10.30am - 12.30pm for a 1pm finish on the first saturday of the month. Bring your broken household items and our team of skilled volunteers will do their very best to try and repair them.
We repair; electrical, mechanical, tech, textiles, clothing and bikes. Basically, if you have an item that is broken and you can get it to the Christian Centre we will take a look at it for you and assess whether we can repair it. We don't stock spare parts but can help you identify what's required, you can then source them and return the following month to complete the repair.
Repairs are carried out free of charge by volunteers. Donations are welcomed as we have to pay for hall hire, public liability insurance, PAT testing equipment, calibration and training and it's also lovely to be able to buy our volunteers a much needed coffee or tea to keep them in full working order for the morning, even humans need oiling!
We are not experts in restoration of antique items as seen on TVs Repair Shop programme, the items they restore take weeks of highly skilled expensive work to restore to their former glory.
We politely ask that you do not arrive before 10.30am, as we need time to set up the room and our equipment. Last repairs accepted at 12.30pm to finish at 1pm. We have to vacate the hall for afternoon bookings.
Please ensure that textiles are freshly laundered and other items brought are clean eg. tip crumbs out of toasters, empty hoovers and lawn mowers etc. Do not bring items containing fuel such as chainsaws, please drain items before bringing.
Thank you for reading. We look forward to seeing you and your broken stuff very soon!
