Friends of Merstham Parks & Greens volunteer morning - Preparing wildflower area
Details
Next volunteer morning: Preparing new wildflower areas.
10-1pm Fri 15th November
Meeting at Weldon Way wildlife garden, opposite the Co-op, Weldon Way, Merstham, RH1 3QA any problems call - 07913 148821
There's approx 200metres square of new wildflower areas in Merstham to prepare and seed - as pictured below. We need to rake and take off dead grass before scattering seed. Then hopefully 🙏 they'll come up like this other one we did a few years ago come June-ish time.
It's brilliant exercise and keeps you warm.
Free refreshements at half time!
All welcome, no experience or equipment required, everything explained, just need appropriate clothing for the weather. Children very welcome with a supervising guardian adult accompanying them.
It's fine to come for only part of the session if you're busy, but great if you can make 10am start when things are explained. Give me a call to find us if you have any problems 07913 148821.
Future Events
Weds Nov 20th Battlebridge race track tree planting assisting the council (many trees)
Sat Nov 30 or Dec 14 - Brook Road open space planting 18 new trees (await date confirmation from the council)
Come and enjoy the outdoors, chat to friendly locals, beautify the greenspace, and 'green gym' exercise!
Lovely to see you if you can make it,
Drummond (chair)
