Hike Norfolk: Hingham circular via the North Pole/12.5 miles/Sunday 8th December

Details

Please join us on a 12.5 mile walk from Hingham, featuring the villages of Hardingham, Thuxton, Garvestone and Reymerston, encompassing the North Pole to get us in the festive mood.

We will start promptly at 10am in the centre of Hingham near the village sign and White Hart pub (PARKING TO BE CONFIRMED - UPDATE PENDING) NR9 4AF. What3Words:///eternally.balance.horn. There are public toilets here to avail yourself of before the walk starts :-).

We will make our way through Hingham, past the windmill house and follow footpaths to Hardingham church for our first break at around 3.3 miles. We will then carry on along quiet lanes and footpaths to Thuxton where we will walk alongside the railway to the church at Garvestone, our lunch stop at 7 miles. There is a water pipe here for refills. After lunch we head through Reymerston, then head south to the start, passing a lot of chickens, allotments and Hingham church on the way back. You are welcome to join us for a post hike drink at The White Hart afterwards NR9 4AF, what3words:///longingly.conspire.dreamers.

Note: finish time is approximate. The terrain is flat but we will be walking at around 3 mph so please only sign up if you can manage the speed and distance. If you can't attend, please mark yourself as not going as early as possible.

Hike Norfolk is part of The Ramblers and we are a friendly bunch who always welcome new members. You can join 3 Ramblers walks for free before signing up, so check us out! Further info: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/get-involved/join-the-ramblers.aspx

Please wear boots/sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather (including wet weather clothing/sun protection if necessary). Also bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.

Health and safety: There are no stiles/cattle on this route. Well behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome. If it rains in the days before the walk certain areas may be muddy. At the time of recceing, all footpaths were clear and there were no thistles and brambles.
