MEETUP is Increasing Subscription Prices

Hi Folks, I just received notice that our Meetup Subscription renewal price is vastly increasing!

1. The subscription dues will increase from the last invoice I received for the two Meetup Groups' subscriptions. This is likely due to the fact that Meetup changed its plans pricing from June 6, 2024, without informing all organizers by sending an official email 28 days before the upcoming change. So the email as seen below is the "28-day notice of said increase." My last payment for the Meetup Group was $98.94 + an 9.8% tax which brought the total to $108.64 (this is what I've been paying since 2018, twice a year - Jun and December. The new price for a 6month subscription is $178.99 (NOT including TAX). This price will be paid 2xs a year in December and June.
2. MEETUP states that the "New PRO and Standard Plans" that were created after June 6 were charged the new prices, while already existing Standard subscriptions, kept the former rate until the next renewal. NOTE: Our renewal is up December 22.
3. At this time, I will be implementing a fee base to join both the Outdoor Adventure & Recreation Group and the Olympia Activities Social Group beginning with the upcoming renewal on December 22nd when our subscription cycle ends.

Please know that it’s grounded in our commitment to providing you with a more feature-rich, stable, and impactful platform. We’ll be able to sustain and accelerate such improvements thanks to this adjustment. And we can’t wait for you to see the value they bring to your Meetup experience.

• Platform reliability and bug fixes. We're investing in robust technology upgrades to ensure Meetup runs smoother than ever, while identifying and fixing bugs as quickly as possible.… and more! This is only the start of our big plans for Meetup, with plenty more enhancements, updates, and new features in the pipeline.
