VIN+YIN yoga is a class that combines Vinyasa Yoga with Yin Yoga. This first half of the class is dedicated to a Vinyasa yoga practice. Vinyasa yoga is an energetic yoga flow that incorporates movement with breath. Each movement and posture will build strength and ease in the body.
Natural warmth created in the body from Vinyasa Yoga will help soften the joints and tissue to prepare the body for the second half of the class dedicated to Yin Yoga. In Yin yoga, we target the deep connective tissues of the body – the ligaments, joints, bones, and deep fascia networks. A traditional Yin class consists of a series of passive postures that are done while seated or lying down and can be held for up to 5 minutes or more. These yoga postures mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. This practice improves the flow of "chi", offering not only physical benefits but also mental and emotional benefits.
Different options to access each pose will be given so all levels of students can attend.
This is a mindful yoga, flow combined with stillness type class.
