WELCOME!
We have events, outings or parties in Tokyo, Chiba and elsewhere for Japanese and foreigners who want to build good social relations while exploring this amazing area.
We like socializing with food and drinks including city and country walks, park and garden tours with picnics, exploring "hidden" neighborhoods, old homes and castles, enjoying traditional and modern festivals, fairs, concerts, comedy shows, museums, arts and crafts, unique art events and special "happenings"!
Discover Japan, practice English/Japanese communications, make new friends, and invite your friends to join!
Volunteers are welcome, and we're eager to hear your suggestions for future meetups.
Domo Arigatou!

P.S. We need volunteers especially Japanese-English and English-Japanese translators!
Volunteers may help in planning future events, assist the organizers on Meetup days, will get FREE admission to special events, and may enjoy other nice benefits too numerous to mention here..

Let's enjoy a fascinating, relaxing walking together along the Nippori Ridge to beautiful Ueno Park through Tokyo's attractive, old-fashioned Yanaka district, browse the free, Yanaka outdoor antiques fair, visit the superb Asakura Museum of Sculpture, Asakura Home Gardens, see gorgeous temples, discover another side of Ueno Park & more!
๐จ
(We've been exploring historic North Tokyo for over 15 years, an area filled with remarkable old temples, lovely homes, quirky shops & amazing monuments which somehow escaped the disastrous wartime bombings in the 1940's, so we have many wonderfully fun places & insights to share with you!)
๐
The Asakura Museum of Sculpture (also known as the Asakura Choso Museum) is the sprawling, three-storied former residence & studio of sculptor Fumio Asakura (1883-1964)
๐บ
The Museum features many of Asakura's superb bronzes & includes his extensive library, other collectibles such as paintings, pottery, plus fine gardens at both ground & roof levels.
