Easy Todoroki & Tama Valley Hike🌺等々力🍁Fall Colors, a Lovers Shrine & Free Sake!
詳細
Let's enjoy a refreshing, relaxing, easy hike through "TODOROKI VALLEY" where cool waters flow...over waterfalls, around mossy rocks & beside trails in the Todoroki-Keikoku ravine, where camellia bushes bloom & trees display bright fall colors!
(A truly GREAT photo walk!)
🍁🌺🍂
等々力 Todoroki means: "Sound of gushing water"
TODOROKI is known as the last natural valley in Tokyo's 23-ku & was inhabited before the Yayoi-era, when ancient people lived here, nearby the wide Tama River.
📸
A popular tour each year, we'll go places you've never seen!
😃
We'll visit a lovely hilltop tea house surrounded by giant bamboo & stop for a friendly picnic lunch (with free hot green tea) on the lawn overlooking the surrounding area! (Hot Sake will be poured later in the event)
😊
We'll hike past mossy shrines, tinkling, fern-shrouded waterfalls & wonderful statues to a gorgeous Buddhist temple whose vermilion lamps & broad verandas will be surrounded by a display of beautiful autumn leaves!
🍁
After leaving the valley, we'll walk beside the wide Tama river. To the south, we'll explore the stunning Sengen-jinja Shinto shrine which overlooks the river, with views of Fuji-san on a clear day.
😎
Afterwards, we'll visit Tamagawadai-koen & Ancient Tumulus Museum, built to showcase rare artifacts excavated in nearby Yayoi "kofun" mounds of ancient warrior nobles. (Yayoi: 200 BC-650 AD)
😮
A poem in the “Manyoshu,” the eighth-century poetry anthology, praises the rhythmic flow of the Tama & a lovely maiden washing cloth in the river. Fuchu, on the left bank of the Tama, became the capital of Musashi Province long before the rise of Edo in the 17th century." (多摩川台公園古墳展示室)
These wooded hills are a wonderful to explore!
