D&D 5e / The Farm (D&D for beginners) / Asakusa Gobshot

A woman comes bursting into the tavern crying. She is babbling about monsters and bandits at her family's farm. Will you and your team of adventures help?

This is a DnD one-shot designed for level 3 characters and intended to help beginners get into the game of DnD where lots of advice (and meta-gaming) is encouraged to help players understand the rules of DnD and how they play their characters. All levels of experience are still welcome.

Characters—Any race/class/background from the many books available is fine. For stats, I like to use 4D6 and discard the lowest. If you need help making a character, I will be there early, around 6 p.m. I will also bring some pre-made characters if anyone does not want to make one of their own.
Equipment - Basic equipment, plus one uncommon magic item if you want one.
Rules - I'll be using Legacy 2014 rules with some extra homebrew rules that spice up critical hits and misses.
