What we’re about
Do you want to improve your knowledge about wine – while enjoying wine tasting, and meeting other wine lovers?
Let's Discover Wine is a wine tasting and education group for those who love wine and want to expand our knowledge. From rank beginners to those who are very experienced in enology, we can all continue to learn more about the wonderful, exciting world of wine.
During our Let's Discover Wine Tastings:
- We enjoy wine!
- We make friends!
- Beginners learn the tastes of different wine-producing grapes!
- More experienced wine drinkers further develop their discrimination among the tastes of similar wines!
- We learn the official Court of Master Sommeliers deductive tasting technique or a casual wine evaluation method, whichever you prefer.
- We learn to pair wine and food!
- We learn to identify wine aromas by smelling an expensive set of bottled sommelier-training odors! Wow! Did you even know this fabulous (and expensive) wine education tool kit even exists!
- We learn correct pronunciation from true native speakers on the Internet! (Not from the fakes on YouTube!)
- We have tasting notes about the wines we are trying from experts on the Internet.
- We use truly correct serving temperatures for different wines.
- We learn the sources of the good wines that we taste so we can purchase them in the future!
- We don't try to concentrate on any one style of wine. We study the globe.
- One objective is to find wines that are priced far less than their value – sometimes from some of the emerging wine areas of the world, where prices have been caught up with quality. (Ex: Chile, South Africa, etc.)

Learn 10 French Rhone wines for $20.61
This tasting is conducted by the wine club ‘Let’s Discover Wine”, not by the Art Gallery. Contact with any questions: [email protected].
We will sample a fabulous Northern Rhone Syrah; compare a famous Cotes du Rhone Villages (La Neuth) wine with Trader Joe’s version; study the 3 quality levels of Rhone wine; and have a great time. A few of these wines are produced by the most famous (and expensive) Rhone producers (Guigal, Colombo, La Neurth), but we will be sampling their second wines to learn their styles - not paying hundreds of dollars a bottle.
WHY US THIS SUCH A BARGAIN? We just share the costs equally. There is no profit, nor labor costs.
EDUCATIONAL: We will taste 10 wines from the Southern Rhone, and learn about each of them.
We’ll be learning about these 10 wines and discussing their taste characteristics.
- Everyone who attends will receive a 30-page booklet on Rhone Wines, concentrating on the wines that we are tasting.
- You also receive a booklet of valuable reprints from CMS (The Court of Master Sommeliers), who are the world’s greatest wine experts.
FOOD. There will be warm bread for palate cleansing and other snacks. You are encouraged to bring dinner for yourself and/or any snacks to share with the group.
REGISTRATION. The cost is $20.61/person, which is the exact cost of the wine, ice, rental fee, etc.
Prepayment is required. Contact [email protected]
To save the cost of paying a fee to register online, you can pay me personally. Be sure to contact me to see if there is space at the tasting before sending money.

Because I have to pay over $200/year to have clubs on Meetup, I planned to drop the club this year because of the high cost to me. Then I gave in and paid to continue the club. We would be able to pay the $220, if many people leave $2 when they come to a tasting. But it is not required. Don’t stay away because you don’t carry cash, which is so common today.
