Middle Way Recovery
Details
This is a supportive group of people who are recovering from various forms of addiction. From food to sex to alcohol, opiates, weed, tobacco, and lots of other behaviors and substances - it's easy to get stuck with bad habits and coping mechanisms that don't help with the restlessness, irritability, and discontentment that are part of ordinary existence.
Anyone who is struggling with letting go of that which no longer serves them should consider joining us. The format of this meeting was developed by a skilled therapist and spiritual leader who created a unique 12-step recovery process based on Buddhist teachings. We usually do a little reading together, meditate for a few minutes, then there's a period of open discussion where folks are free to share if they want.
Following the recovery group meeting, there is a meditation session in the same space. You're invited and welcome to stick around to meditate with us after the recovery meeting. The meditation practice compliments the recovery group, but you don't have to stick around for it.
You do not have to RSVP to attend. This event brings together members of the Lion's Roar Dharma Center and the broader Sacramento community, including us Meetup people. It's nice if you do RSVP, but it's not required. You can totally just show up and it's fine.
Every week on Sunday
