For 2024 we're working with the theme "A Grand Rising." This phrase is used by some in place of "Good morning" and it's a lovely call to something more, something greater.
As we come to the end of our Grand Rising, we borrow a term from gymnastics for our December theme - Sticking the Landing. We finish strong, then elevate our game as we look toward 2025 to go even higher and deeper.
We are so conditioned, especially in Western culture, to think, think, think. Yet the truth is we are feeling creatures who think. As we allow the fire of Love, the fire of Spirit to move us, we rise to new levels of joy, love, and alignment with Spirit.

Our weekly Sunday Service explores ideas from many faith traditions and how to live practically as a spiritual person in today's world. We are based on the Science of Mind, (not related to Scientology) the work of Ernest Holmes, one of the best known New Thought teachers and writers of the 1900's. Music, meditation, talk, youth program. We are an open and affirming community for all. We begin with a 15 minute meditation at 10:30. The service, beginning at 11, consists of an opening prayer, meditation, music, talk, and an invitation to support this community. We celebrate the conjunction of several festivals of light today - Solstice, Christmas, and Hanukkah. This is the darkest time of year in the northern hemisphere. So, of course, we celebrate light! We walk “guided by the illumination of remembered radiance.” This will be an especially festive service, with some extra music and seasonal celebration.

In our teaching there's a saying that we are "open at the top." But there is a difference between hearing that we are “open at the top” and expanding into that opening. As we complete this year of Grand Rising, what is arising through us? Where are we being called to expand? This will inspire us as we move into 2025.
