Sunday Inspiration Service - The Incredible Light of Being

For 2024 we're working with the theme "A Grand Rising." This phrase is used by some in place of "Good morning" and it's a lovely call to something more, something greater.
As we come to the end of our Grand Rising, we borrow a term from gymnastics for our December theme - Sticking the Landing. We finish strong, then elevate our game as we look toward 2025 to go even higher and deeper.
We celebrate the conjunction of several festivals of light today - Solstice, Christmas, and Hanukkah. This is the darkest time of year in the northern hemisphere. So, of course, we celebrate light! We walk “guided by the illumination of remembered radiance.” This will be an especially festive service, with some extra music and seasonal celebration.

Our weekly Sunday Service explores ideas from many faith traditions and how to live practically as a spiritual person in today's world. We are based on the Science of Mind, (not related to Scientology) the work of Ernest Holmes, one of the best known New Thought teachers and writers of the 1900's. Music, meditation, talk, youth program. We are an open and affirming community for all. We begin with a 15 minute meditation at 10:30. The service, beginning at 11, consists of an opening prayer, meditation, music, talk, and an invitation to support this community.
