Gallery Tour and Discussion on Portrait Photography
Details
We'll examine in detail Appleton museum's exhibition of 18 silver prints which highlight the individuality of the subjects – including rare and intimate portraits of Marlon Brando, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin – as well as the distinctive artistic perspectives of the photographers. Artists on exhibit include Mary Ellen Mark, Bert Stern, and Edward Weston.
After the tour, we will retire to the café room and discuss portrait photography. Please bring a print of a portrait photo or two of your own to share.
Tour will be led by OPG founder John Elliott, who began his career as a portrait photographer with Bryn-Alan Studios in Tampa and Miami in 1980. His background spans careers as a magazine photojournalist, corporate photographer, advertising creative director, and U.S. diplomat. (www.thehumanpulse.com)
