O: DTLA, Griffith Park Walking Tour

This meander will be a long day for fit hikers. Moderate, steady paced,

9+ mile, 800 ft gain walk in Los Feliz, Griffith Park and DTLA. You can drive to Union Station, but parking is scarce and expensive. Travel by MetroLink encouraged. Fare info and updates at metrolinktrains.com. Meet 8:30 AM at the aquarium in LA Metro Plaza, at south end of Union Station. We'll use the restrooms, discuss our plan, then head downstairs to catch LA Metro Red Line to Vermont/Sunset station, walk past impressive estates and the Greek Theater up to Griffith Observatory
(free entry). We'll spend an hour exploring the planetarium, lunch and return thru Fern Dell to Hollywood/Western station. We return to DTLA and slow walk thru holiday lights and displays, then return to Union Station by 5:00 or 6:00 pm to catch our trains to OC. Wear comfy layers/footwear per forecast, bring sun protection, lunch, water, beverage or snack to share, cash/credit/Metrolink ticket.
