What we’re about
Welcome to the Pacific Photographic Society of San Diego. We are an active hands-on photography group for all levels of photographers and for photographic expertise from novice to expert.
Our emphasis is on photography in the field and in the studio, as well as photo finishing, education and networking.
We offer our members a wide range of photography related events including several monthly photo shoots at various locations, seminars, classes, educational shoots and networking opportunities with other photographers.
We welcome all photographers from beginner to professional and seek to provide an environment that is friendly, professional and enriching for all.
We actively seek the input of our members to ensure that the group provides the activities that are both beneficial and enjoyable to participating photographers.

See all- Street Photography November: Gaslamp At NightLou & Mickey's, San Diego, CA
For our second street photography meetup this month, we’re shaking things up with a new challenge: night street photography! Grab your fast lenses, and let’s capture some memorable shots.
We’ll start by gathering at the Gaslamp street sign in front of Lou and Mickey’s bar for a group photo. With sunset at 4:46pm, we’ll catch the golden light before heading out to explore the Gaslamp Quarter in the dark. You can stick with the group or explore solo—it’s all about discovering your own nighttime perspectives!
Parking: Street parking is available, though you may need to search a bit. For convenient options, try Ace Parking at 6th and K or 614 Market Street, both just $1/hour. Public transportation is also a great alternative!

Is street photography of children ever ok? (summary: while legal, it's complicated - please note we do not allow photos of children to be uploaded to meetup)What to Bring:
Bring a fast lens—ideally something between f/1.4 and f/2.0—and don’t forget comfortable walking shoes. A 35mm or 50mm prime lens is ideal for capturing street scenes. And if you’re interested in experimenting with flash photography, feel free to give it a try!By submitting a YES RSVP and participating in any PPS event, you agree that PPS, Organizers, and Event Hosts are NOT responsible for your safety or for any injury or damage to your person or your property, or that of your guest(s).
