Welcome to Paddle LA and OC!
Love paddleboarding/kayaking and looking for an active, fun community to join? Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a total beginner, this group is for everyone who wants to enjoy the water, get in a good workout, and connect with great people.
We partner with local rental companies, but bringing your own board is always a plus! Most of our paddles launch from Long Beach, though we’re always excited to explore new spots—feel free to suggest your favorite places!
After each paddle, we love sharing photos from the water, so make sure to snap a few! If you prefer not to be featured, just let us know. You can share your pics with the group on Meetup or in our Facebook group: Paddle LA and OC Facebook Group (JOIN).

Calling all paddle enthusiasts and/or sunset chasers. 🌅
Grab your board or kayak and meet us at Alamitos Bay in Long Beach. All skill levels are welcome, and you must be competent at paddling when it gets dark.
What you’ll need:
- A paddleboard or kayak
- A paddle (don’t forget this)
- A battery-operated light 💡🔦 so you can be seen by boats and others when it starts to get dark.
- Life vest/belt and a leash
Paddle Route:
- We will begin at the bay, paddle through the canals and around Naples Island, then return to our starting point.
Timeline:
- On the sand, ready to go at 5:00pm
- Intro/stretch at 5:10pm
- Underway by 5:15pm
- Back by 6:30-6:45pm
- TBD - We may go somewhere for food/drinks after for whoever is interested.
Need to rent a board? Unfortunately, the rental facility is closed at our designated meet time. If you need to rent a board, our Saturday events would be best to join as the rental facility can accommodate at this time.

Living LA and OC members, get ready for a special FREE group workout with F45 Downtown Long Beach! This high-energy, community-focused class is open to all fitness levels and is a great way to meet new friends, both from our group and F45’s local community.
Arrive at 10:00 AM to sign waivers, settle in, and connect with fellow attendees, including F45 members eager to work out with us! Don’t worry if you see an earlier class finishing up as you arrive—you’re right on time. We’ll start with a brief overview of each station to ensure you’re ready and confident, followed by a warm-up to get your muscles prepped for an energizing workout!
What You Can Expect:
- Guided Station Overview and Warm-Up: Our coaches will first walk you through each exercise station to ensure you’re familiar with the moves. Then we’ll warm up together, preparing our bodies for the workout.
- Personalized Coaching: Multiple friendly F45 coaches will circulate, giving positive feedback and helping everyone with form so you’re safe and get the most out of each exercise.
- Tailored Stations: Each exercise is adaptable, so whether you’re a beginner or advanced, you’ll feel comfortable and challenged at your own pace.
- Build Community: Enjoy the support and camaraderie of fellow Living LA and OC members, along with friendly F45 regulars!
Cool Down and Stretching:
After the workout, we’ll wrap up with a cool-down and some stretching to thank our bodies for all the hard work. This is a great way to relax, recharge, and head into the weekend feeling accomplished!What to Bring:
- Water bottle
- Workout towel
- Athletic wear and sneakers
RSVP Now: Space is limited, so RSVP early to grab your spot! You can also tell a friend but they need to join the group and RSVP.
After Class: Stick around for group photos, meet other members, and soak in the positive energy! Let’s start the weekend with fitness, new friends, and fun! 🎉
Parking and Location Details:
- Park in the city lot on 3rd Street. The first two hours are free! (Parking Lot Address: 51 E 3rd St, Long Beach, CA 90802)
- The gym is located at the corner of 3rd St and Pacific Ave—you’ll hear the music and feel the positive vibe right away, so you can’t miss us!
Note: Please arrive by 10:00 AM to complete the waiver and get settled before the class begins.
