Lathkill Dale and the Limestone way (11.9 miles - only 300m Ascent)

Details

For those who want a bit of respite from the Christmas shopping here is the chance to do a gentle walk with just 300 metres of ascent and around 12 miles distance.

This is a relatively easy walk and is suitable for most people with an average or above level of fitness.

We will take the walk at a nice steady pace with lots of time for photographs along the way.

We start in the pretty village of Monyash outside the St Leonards church (W3W : ///shelter.beeline.duos) on the village green.

Those who get there early are welcome to join me for breakfast in the Cafe.

We will then initially head north before heading down to Lathkill Dale. We follow the river and will have adequate time to stop and look at some of the more interesting things we will find along the way.

Eventually we will reach the village of Allport where we will leave the river Lathkill and temporarily join the river Bradford for our journey to the village of Youlgrave.

Depending on how we are doing we will probably stop here for lunch in Youlgrave before continuing our journey on the Limestone way back to Monyash.

Please bring food and drinks for the day and appropriate clothing and footwear for the time of year.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Please note the walk start time.....10:00.

This is when I will be leaving Monyash hopefully accompanied by lots of you.

If for some reason you are unable to come, please change your RSVP at the earliest opportunity to give someone else the chance to attend.

Please note, this walk will happen no matter what the weather conditions :-

Sun, wind, rain, snow, sleet and cloud (or any combination) will not stop this event from happening.
