Moel Siabod (North Wales) - 7.1 Miles
Details
This is the first of 2 weekend walks in North Wales in January 2025.
We meet at the layby by Plas-Y-Brenin (W3W: ///burden.allowable.plan) ready for a 10:00 departure.
A winter ascent of Moel Siabod. Just 7.1 Miles and 800 metres of ascent.
Many of you have done this mountain in Snowdonia in the past but its a different beast in the Winter with ice cold wind and it regularly has deep snow drifts on the summit in January. That's not to mention the scrambles down rocks on the way to the quarry on the descent.

You will need a good level of fitness and a sense of adventure to complete this walk. I am looking for a smallish team of up to 15 to join me.
Crampons or Microspikes are probably a good idea as is an Ice axe (if you know how to use it).
I am not organising accommodation but will be happy to co-ordinate through a WhatsApp group for these trips. Message me if you want to join and I will add you to the group and perhaps we can all stay somewhere together.
You are responsible for bringing appropriate clothing and footwear and you will require food and fluids for the day.
The walk leaves the layby next to Plas-Y-Brenin at 10:00 on the dot.
Any questions please let me know.
Thank you.
