To Back Tor and Beyond.
Details
Lovely 10 mile walk along derwent edge with about 1700 feet of ascent on reasonable paths.
Wear warm clothing to include hat, and gloves and pack extra to put on when we stop for breaks we will take on the hill. A hot drink goes down very well. Pack boots to wear with a good grip. No trainers. If snow and ice pack spikes. I wear Kahtoola micro spikes. It is scary tottering around on the hill without spikes on icy paths.
Start is at cutthroat bridge car park - free to park but no facilities- which fills up quickly at weekends so plan is to arrive by 9.15 am and start walking by 9.30am. We will not wait for anyone who is late.
Dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead around livestock. There are sheep on derwent edge.
I’ll check forecast closer to the time and post a message to everyone on here. Let’s hope it’s sunny. 😎
I am not first aid trained or a professional mountain guide. Attendance is at your own risk.
