OK, we're moving back indoors for the winter!

Let's face it, it's tough to have a conversation during a concert so the goal is to have an opportunity to socialize with other members of the group. Come hang out, grab a drink, and chat about concerts, music, and the meaning of life. They don't serve food, but they're cool with you bringing in takeout (lots of options nearby). If you're a first-timer, this is a great one to come to. Cheers!

Come show off your pitch-perfect pipes at HandleBar's weekly karaoke event! The singing starts at 8pm, but I will be getting there a little early to try and claim some seating. It's a bit harder to chat as a group once karaoke starts so come early if you want to socialize beforehand. If you're feeling too bashful to sing, that's totally fine (though I can guarantee your voice is more impressive than mine). You can still mingle and cheer on everyone else. I was tragically late to the David Berman bandwagon, but that Purple Mountains album from 2019 absolutely blew me away. It honestly might be my favorite album of all time from a lyrics standpoint. If you're a fan of clever wordplay that simultaneously makes you laugh and cry, I definitely recommend that you check out the Silver Jews catalog as well. So come on out to celebrate and remember one of the great songwriters of our time. Grab your advance ticket here!

Friko's debut album has been in steady rotation for me since it came out earlier this year, and I'm pretty excited that they're dropping by St. Louis on their upcoming tour. They can switch between intimate piano ballads, atmospheric shoegaze, and energetic punk (sometimes in the same song). Plus, this is at the newly revamped Grove venue, Atomic, and it's always fun to check out a new spot. See you there!
