The views from the summits are well worth the climb. Leashed dogs are allowed. Above is a picture of the Twin Peaks taken from Twin Peaks Road.
We'll meet at 9:30 AM in Silverset Park at the corner of Silverset St. and Shadowline St. in Poway (N 32 58.847 W 117 3.064). We'll step off at 9:45 AM. Silverset Park has rest rooms.
SUGGESTED ROUTE FROM SAN DIEGO: North on I-15, then east on Ted Williams Parkway. At the end of Ted Williams Parkway, turn right (east) on Twin Peaks Road, then left into Silverset St. Follow Silverset St. to its end and turn right into the parking lot. If the parking lot is full, park on a nearby street.
Wear suitable layered clothing and good hiking shoes. Hiking poles will be helpful on the steep slopes. Take water and use sun protection. No lunch stop is planned, but you may want to take a snack. Take a camera if you wish.
