Shut Up & Write!® at Birkenhead library

Coworking for writers in your area!
Join us for some focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in your area.

When you show up, say hello to everyone and get your writing tools ready. I will lead quick introductions (name, what you're working on) for the first 10 minutes and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session (60 minutes).

Afterward, we’ll have time to socialize and get to know each other. Maybe you'll find a writing buddy with whom you can share each other's work. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers, but if you don’t have time to stick around, no worries!

If you're running late, no worries! Just come in and quietly start writing, and we'll have a catchup at the end.

A note about the format
We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing.

Other Important Details:
WiFi free if you've got a library card or get a visitor pass from the library desk.
Travel / Parking info: Parking should be pretty easy given the time of day, but there is a free lot across the street from the library for 2 hours.
We'll be meeting on the second floor upstairs in the mezzanine meeting room. Hopefully I will have posted some signs or left some breadcrumbs (lol!) so that you can find your way. If lost, just ask at the desk. Welcome!
Please note that our space is limited. If you RSVP and then don't show, you are potentially depriving another writer a space in the room. If you RSVP and then don't show up twice, you will be dropped. This is our policy to allow committed and dedicated writers the space to attend.
