Volunteer for National Hiking Day at Huron Meadows Metropark
Details
Join us to celebrate National Hiking Day at Huron Meadows Metropark! This event will be led by the Metropark Natural Resource Volunteer Coordinator Bria Sheffer.
We will start with a 3/4 mile hike to learn about these natural areas and the work being done to preserve them. Then, you’ll get a chance to make an impact by working to preserve a treasured forest ecosystem with invasive shrub cutting.
All necessary tools and equipment will be provided. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your favorite pair! Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and off-trail in areas that may include poison ivy (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.). Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water!
We’d love for people to register here (or by calling 810-494-6071) ahead of time, but we won’t turn anyone away!
Click the map attached to this meetup to be guided directly to the Cedar Ridge lot where we are meeting.
NOTE: This is not a Sierra Club event. This event is sponsored by the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.
