Nervous System Regulation with Internal Family Systems

Details

Come play with us! We will do group practices and exercises that support us regulating our nervous system, finding our center, returning back to "self," noticing and naming all of our different parts, and dipping our toes into giving these parts the empathy and understanding they seek. These are the foundational practices of IFS (Internal Family Systems.) The intention of IFS is to create inner harmony by putting the "self" (your center, your higher self, whatever you want to call it) in charge of all your parts to re-parent our hurt, injured parts. This work does wonders for trauma, anxiety, depression and a whole host of other mental health and auto immune issues.

Our exercises will include:
- Noticing and Naming
- Somatic Exercises
- Breathing Exercises
- Zooming out into the big picture

You can opt out of any exercise at any time with no pressure. Learning to find your yeses and nos is a big part of nervous system regulation. You can choose to share your experiences or keep them to yourself. You get to modulate how much engagement feels comfortable for you, in any given moment.

You don't need any prior knowledge about IFS to participate. If you're curious, I'd recommend watching a video on youtube. It's pretty exciting stuff.

This event is free but we do accept donations for our time, sharing our home, and facilitation, so please bring cash if you can.

We host our events in our home in the north side of Fletcher, off Charlotte Highway. We send out our address to registered participants a day or two before the event. If you don't receive the email, please reach out because meet up messages don't always go through. Also check your spam or junk folder.
