Details

We're going to check out the manatees at Blue Spring. Last time I was there (about a year ago) the park biologist told me they had counted over 400 of the gentle giants on the spring run.

Here are the details for the event. After you turn on French Ave, GO PAST the park entrance and follow the dirt road to the very end. Here you’ll find the launch area. Unload your boat(s) and then park along the road, on the shoulder. There is no parking or launch fees, but there is an entry fee to the park payable to the iron ranger. Best I remember it’s only $2 but may have increased.

My plan is to launch our kayaks (or SUP's)and paddle to the park and get out and walk the boardwalk seeing how many manatees we can count. Afterwards we'll paddle out onto the St. John's River and explore a little bit. This is a great paddle and I believe all of you will enjoy it.
As always plan on gathering for lunch at a local restaurant.

Bring PFD, whistle, water, snacks, bug spray & sunscreen.

AND REMEMBER EARLY IS ON TIME.
