- Let's Hike! Inverness/Citrus Tract Loop A from Kiosk/Holder Mine Camp < 9 milesHolder Mine Camp, Inverness, FL
Hey peeps, feel like doing a dry loop in the middle of the Withlacoochee State Forest? If so, this hike is for you. The trail is a little hilly, has some sugar sand on it, and there's stretches of shade and sun. There might be some downed trees at some point, but they should be easy to walk around. We will keep a moderate pace, have a 20 min snack break, and take short breaks as needed. This is a rain or shine event unless there is a threat of thunder and lightning.
The kiosk where we park and meet is across from the Holder Mine Camp. Meetup won't let me put in the actual address so go with this: RJ28+5W, Inverness, FL.
Let's meet at 815am so we can be on the trail by 830am. The forest has a day use fee of $2 which can be paid online at https://floridastateforests.reserveamerica.com/posProducts.do?contractCode=FLFS&tti=Web%20Store.
Extra parking is available on the same side as the kiosk. Bathrooms aren't a sure thing but there's a Marathon Gas Station on 581/S. Pleasant Grove, just south of Trail Road 10.
For this hike, you will need at least 2 or 3 liters of water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, hikers (no sandals or walking shoes), and anything else you deem necessary for your comfort. You might also want to bring a ground cloth to sit on during the snack break.
Since it's hunting season, you might want to wear orange.
My number on the day of the hike is 813-713-2492.

If you bring a guest, please have them sign up so they too can accept all the risks.
