What we’re about

We understand that living with anxiety, depression or any other "mental health challenge" can feel lonely, so this group is designed to bring people together to offer mutual peer support.

It's nothing heavy! In fact, it's a very friendly and informal social/support group for adults aged 18+, giving you the chance to get out and be around those who understand how you're feeling, all in a safe, non-judgemental and relaxed environment.

We have events that appeal to everyone including coffee meets, walks, lunches, board game and quiz nights, arts & crafts, badminton and lots more, all organised to minimise anxiety for new and regular members alike. Just pick the ones that appeal to you!

And if you want to talk about specific issues then you're with people who listen and understand your situation, if you prefer not to then there's no pressure to do so.

We have a private Facebook group which only members of the group can see and join. It's a great way of supporting each other, sharing experiences and thoughts, and keeping in touch with people you meet.

SWADS is free for 2 months, then we ask for a £5 fee (unemployed/students/retired) or £10 (employed) for a 12 month membership to help us cover our costs.

Please don't hesitate to join and have a look at what's going on - you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to message us, or drop us an email at [email protected]

We look forward to welcoming you soon :-)
