What we’re about
For the immediate future, all Swift Cycling group rides have been cancelled. We will re-evaluate near the end of April. Until then, ride solo, ride safe, and be well.
Swift a is cycling club of skilled and experienced cyclists. Almost all of us have competed in the past but now we are interested in riding a little less aggressively. We are non-profit, insured, and require waivers and dues of our members. If you would like to come ride with us, that is certainly no problem; please drop by for a ride to see what we are about. Two even. Then, if you decide Swift is your pace, we ask that you become a member. It’s really cheap and totally worth it.
Swift Cycling rides usually average 30-60 miles (or 2 to 4 hours) at about 17-18mph average. Rides are “no drop” in that we will regroup at the corners if necessary or break into multiple groups. The club usually rides in a well-organized peloton and often in a rotating pace line. Most rides begin at Vic’s on 30th near Iris or at Caffe Sole in the Table Mesa shopping center. Most rides end at a brewery. All rides are on bike safe roads where all laws applying to bicycles are followed. Dangerous riders will not be tolerated.
Swift members are asked to help clean our adopted mile along Nelson Rd north of Boulder twice a year, attend the annual meeting, pay the nominal dues, and sign a simple waiver that absolutely does not grant Swift officers legal power of attorney. Members in good standing are invited to participate in the very nearly annual summer cycling trip (and adventure!). All flavors and ages are welcome as are all creeds, religions, non-religions, colors, ideologies, orientations, and identities. We do have very strong opinions about sock length, however.
Club kit colors are orange, sometimes white, and black. It isn’t necessary, but, you know, things will go easier for you if your bike matches club colors, capiche? Also, a navigation and cycling level command of Italian (preferred) and/or French (meh, whatev’) would be useful.
