If you are new to TOWN, this is a particularly delightful and easy outing, paddling through the heart of Austin: no experience is needed.
Fall hours: meet at 5 pm at the Rowing Dock picnic tables; outing lasts until 7 pm.
Rowing Dock (2418 Stratford Drive off Barton Springs Road).
Our $20 (cash preferred) special price will get you two hours on the lake with a boat, paddle and life jacket. It is easy to get the hang of kayaking, there are no rapids or white water, and the staff of the Rowing Dock help us get into and out of the boats, and never laugh.

Our season continues through October, with a weekly outing either in the morning or the evening. On sunny days, protect your skin from sunburn by wearing shorts to cover the tops of your thighs, a shirt to cover your arms and chest. A hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water are as much gear as you need.

If you have your own boat, you can put in behind the Rowing Dock at no charge, but must be wearing a lifejacket to sign in on the TOWN roster. Guests are welcome. Following our outings, we often share a meal or snack at various local venues.
