Mountain-to-Sea Trail: Falls Lake Trail, Blue Jay Point and Beyond, offers a wilderness-looking hike. It is a moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Raleigh that features a lake and bird watching. The trail is quiet and peaceful.

While we hope you are vaccinated and boosted, we are no longer checking vaccine cards. If you have Covid symptoms, please stay home.

• Terms of Participation
Participation in this event constitutes acceptance of the Terms of Membership listed under About Us, this Group (or equivalent) on behalf of yourself and any other persons you invite to the event, and to any other policies written or verbally communicated by Trailbusters organizers. As stated in the Terms of Membership, you understand and agree that participating in events with Trailbusters is entirely at your own risk.

• What We'll Do
We will start at Six Forks Rd and hike on Falls Lake Trail along Neuse River. Once we reach Blue Jay Point, we will explore local trails, including BJP Trail, and then head back.

•• Trails: Falls Lake Trail, BJP Trail and other short trails.

•• Distance: about 5 miles, 390 ft elevation gain.

•• Difficulty: Moderate, unpaved with tree roots, and rocks, with ups and downs.

\*\* Speed: Our average hiking speed is 3 MPH, approximately from 2.7 to 3.3 mph, depending on the terrain. You can keep pace with the group or hike faster or slower. If you decide to hike at different pace, we strongly recommend having a copy of the trail map or a hiking app such as Alltrails. Some trails have side trails that can make finding your way back challenging.

•• Facilities: No restrooms at the trailhead. Restrooms are at Blue Jay Point Park.

•• Parking. Parking is limited at the road.

•• Opt-out: Return at any point or at Blue Jay Point.

• After hike
No activity is planned.

• What to Bring
Plenty of WATER, comfortable hiking shoes or boots (recommended), walking sticks, clothing appropriate for the weather, sunscreen, and perhaps a snack. In bug season we also recommend a good mosquito and other insect repellent.

• No show or running late
Please update your RSVP if you cannot make it to this hike. This will allow those on the waitlist to join the hike. If you are running late, please text or call the hike organizer.

• Important to Know
Please let the hike organizer know if you do not intend to complete the hike. While we are not liable for you on the trail, we do want to keep track if possible.

• Dogs: Well-mannered, friendly dogs on leashes 6 ft or less are welcome.

• Weather Policy
If the weather forecast is rainy, we'll reschedule. If it's questionable, check our posting an hour or two before the event.
