Join Travel Buddies as we head off to explore Copenhagen, the Danish capital city that seamlessly blends history, culture and modern living with it's colourful houses, charming canals and world class museums.
Take a gastronomic journey through the vibrant neighbourhoods, hop on/off at all of the iconic landmarks peruse glittering palaces and delve deep in to Viking history....

November is a great time to visit. The hurricane season has well passed yet the crowds that appear in December and January have not yet arrived. The day time temperatures is in the early 20s with evening temperatures a little lower.

Join Travel Buddies as we embark on this incredible trip as we head to New Orleans the BIG EASY... Jazz Capital of the World. Take a dinner cruise on the Mississippi, dine on Cajun and Creole specialities, visit the oldest sugar cane plantation in Louisiana and taka a swamp boat tour in the bayou. All of this and more...

Day 1. Friday 22nd November
We will all meet at the airport before boarding our flight. Upon arrival in New Orleans we will take our private transfer to the hotel where we will be staying for the next 6 nights. We will be sharing twin rooms with 2 double beds and breakfast is included each morning. There is the option to have a room to yourself for a supplement of £300 this needs to be paid at the same time as the balance.

The 4* SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/Canal Street has an on-site rooftop bar with views of downtown New Orleans. There is a tea and coffee maker in the rooms and free Wifi.

This evening we will go for dinner locally. To try some dishes invented in New Orleans check out the po' boy and muffuletta sandwiches, oysters Rockefeller and oysters Bienville, pompano en papillote, and bananas Foster.

Day 2. Saturday 23rd November
After breakfast will explore the iconic sights of New Orleans and the hidden treasures that only the locals know on a guided tour. We start the tour through the French Quarter. Here we will see the mixture of French, Spanish and American cultures in everything from the street names to the architecture and cuisine. Then, its on to Bourbon street, famous for its wild nightlife Jazz music and plantation homes.

Next, we visit the historic New Orleans Cemeteries and will learn about the unique way in which they honor and bury their loved ones. This piece of New Orleans culture is unique to the city, you won’t find it anywhere else in the United States! The above ground burial is a tradition that dates back to the Spanish control of the city in the 18th century.

We then gain an insight in to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and we will learn how the city inhabitants came together to restore "New Orleans".

The last stop of the day is the Musicians village, a village totally dedicated to rehoming many of the musicians after the hurricane.

There will be a lunch stop at a local eatery along the way. (not included)

Day 3. Sunday 24th November
Today we will be picked up from the hotel to explore Louisiana’s unique history and ecology for a day tour to the oldest standing Plantation in the Mississippi Valley that is surrounded by majestic, 300 year old Oak Trees and take a Swamp boat tour in the Bayou.

We will Travel along the oak-lined River Road to the Destrehan Plantation and take a guided tour of the sugar plantation home, grounds and slave quarters while learning about life in the antebellum South and the site’s changing role during the Civil War.

Next we venture into the bayou for a narrated swamp cruise through wild wetlands that are home to turtles, otters, snakes and famous Louisiana gators.

After our tour we will be dropped back at the hotel and have a some free time before going out to dinner locally.

Day 4. Monday 25th November
Today we will enjoy a buffet lunch with live Jazz music at "The Court of Two Sisters".....more than a restaurant – it’s a legend. Enjoy luscious Creole and Cajun cuisine. Pass through the Charm Gates, make a wish in the Devil’s Wishing Well and hear the story of Emma and Bertha, the two sisters who ran a shop here once upon a time in the French Quarter.

Dishes include Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, Turtle Soup au Sherry, Shrimp Etouffee, Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Corn Macque Choux. Delicious!

A night out in the "Big Easy". Few cities rival New Orleans’ nightlife thanks to its thrilling music scene. From authentic dixieland to big brass and every other jazz style in between, live music options are endless in the city that gave birth to the coolest genre in music. Hear about the origins and culture of jazz before we make our way to the 19th century neighborhood that boasts the best music and bars in town. We’ll visit a few of the favorite local clubs, enjoy a drink and discover the talents of some of the city’s best local musicians.

Day 5. Tuesday 26th November
Free Day.

A free day is just as it says, some of the group may choose to go off in smaller groups to do things of interest, some may prefer to stay at the hotel and relax or book an additional tour. Whatever you want it is up to you and you wont be left on your own.... unless you want to be. :)

Day 6. Wednesday 27th November
This morning we will take a behind the scenes look at what goes in to the country's biggest free party with a visit to Mardi Gras World. The huge floats take months to build and decorate, and this is where a large part of that happens. Painters and sculptures are actually working on pieces as you walk through, and it feels like being let in on a secret. Our tour will last 90 minutes.
(Transfers are not included)

To mark the last evening of this incredible adventure we take a steamboat river cruise down the Mississippi river and enjoy a traditional dinner on board whilst listening to live Jazz music. What a way to end the week!

Day 7. Thursday 28th November
This morning after breakfast we can check out and store our luggage before visiting some last spots for sightseeing.

our transfer back to the airport will be in the late afternoon.

Day 8. Friday 29th November
Arrive UK and bid farewell to our fellow Travel Buddies.

Join Travel Buddies as we head to Salzberg in the Austrian Alps for a fantastic festive time celebrating this "City of Music" surrounded by gorgeous winter scenery. Sing along on a "Sound of Music" Tour visiting all of the famous landmarks featured in one of the most famous films ever made, enjoy a recital of famous classical music pieces during a best of Mozart concert at the Salzburg Fortress and even venture to Vienna for the day on a train journey to remember. Start the festive season in true style this year.......

Day 1. Tuesday 3rd December
After meeting at the airport we will meet the rest of the group and board our flight.

For the next 4 nights we will be staying at the 3* family run Hotel Turnerwirt nestled on the northern edge of the Alps. A traditional Austrian style hotel dating back to 1437. Breakfast is included each morning. However we feel on the day we can choose to walk in to the city surrounded by the gorgeous scenery (40 minutes), or take a bus from right outside the hotel (15 minutes).

We will be sharing twin rooms and there is also the option to have a room to yourself for an additional £120 for the 4 nights. This will need to be paid at the same time as the balance.

This evening we will take the short walk to the restaurant nearby to enjoy some traditional Austrian food.

Day 2. Wednesday 4th December
This morning after breakfast we will take to bus from outside the hotel in to the city (15 minutes) and meet our guide for a walking tour of Salzberg. After taking a look at Mozart’s residence and Mirabell Palace, we cross the river and enter Getreidegasse, the most famous street in Salzburg and the place where Mozart was born.

We cross University Square and the University, take a look at the Concert Hall, where we learn about the Salzburg Festival, visit the monastery of St. Peter, take a look at the Cathedral, admire the fortress from below and pass Residenzplatz square, before ending our walk in front of the statue of Mozart, where we will learn how the Mozart cult began.

As the clock chimes 12 times, enjoy an organ music spectacle in the top landmark of Salzburg. Listen to classical sounds from two different organists while admiring the iconic Baroque interiors.

Free afternoon to explore the city, browse the stalls in one of the oldest advent markets in Europe or visit one of the many museums.

Feel free to do as much or as little research as you like, some members will know what they would like to visit as soon as they book the trip, Others will just turn up at the airport and have not researched at all. Either is absolutely fine. We all have different ideas as to what constitutes a great time away!

This evening we will take taxis in to town (included) and enjoy dinner before taking the funicular to the Salzberg Fortress to enjoy an unforgettable recital of famous classical music pieces during a best of Mozart concert. Take your seat at the famous Festung Hohensalzburg , nestled high on a hilltop overlooking the city. Listen as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most beautiful pieces of music are brought to life in the spectacular surroundings of Salzburg Fortress. Enjoy panoramic views over the town twinkling in the evening darkness. Hear treasures from the composer's magnificent collection of works, and enjoy solos from internationally renowned performers.

After the concert we can enjoy a nightcap in town or share taxis directly back to the hotel .

Day 3. Thursday 5th December
Morning "Sound of Music Tour"
On this half-day tour we'll relive scenes from one of the most popular movies of all time. Visit the locations used during the filming of The Sound of Music in Salzburg and its surrounding countryside. During the tour, we’ll also hear songs from the original soundtrack! The perfect chance for a spot of singing on the coach :)

Day 4. Friday 6th December
Free day with option to go to Hallstatt on the train. The journey requires one train change and a small ferry ride across the water to arrive at the Picture perfect lakeside village famous for its salt mines. Its 16th-century Alpine houses and alleyways are home to cafes and shops. A funicular railway connects to Salzwelten, an ancient salt mine with a subterranean salt lake, and to Skywalk Hallstatt viewing platform. A trail leads to the Echern Valley glacier garden with glacial potholes and Waldbachstrub Waterfall.

Return train ticket for the day is around £20.

Day 5. Saturday 7th December
Today after checking out we can store our luggage and have the day at leisure to before meeting in the lobby to take take our private transfer to the airport at around 15.00 for our flight to the UK.

Day 1. Saturday 28th December. UK - TORONTO
Meet at Heathrow airport and board our direct flight as we set off on our
New Years Vacation!

Upon arrival we will take our private transfer to Toronto Downtown where we will be staying for the following week. The Town Inn Suites Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the subway station, with many restaurants nearby.

we will be sharing twin Suites (each room has 2 queen size beds) with en-suite bathrooms and breakfast is provided each morning. The rooms also have tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge and a microwave. If you wish to have a room to yourself the supplement for the 9 nights for either £350 or £430 (If you wish to have a Comfort suite with bathtub instead of a comfort room with shower in the second accommodation, you will need to opt for the higher supplement. Please note that there are only 5 of these rooms available).

As we will be arriving in the afternoon we will have chance to settle ourselves in before taking public transport to the entertainment district to enjoy dinner in the "Foodie Capital of Canada" From hole-in-the-wall joints with no phone to luxurious tasting menus, Toronto is a food lover's dream city.

Day 2. Sunday 29th December. TORONTO
Today we will take the short walk to the starting point for a full day using our hop on/off bus tour tickets. There are 22 destinations around the city and a running commentary telling us all about the different attractions in the city that we may like to visit. Some of the stops are as follows...

Royal Ontario Museum
A building that has to be seen to be believed. A fabulous fusion of post-modern might and industrial precision, this building is like stepping into a diamond. Once inside, you'll find a dazzling array of treasures, some cultural, many natural – bones of tyrannosaurus rex and woolly mammoth, meteorites and mega-sized minerals, and treasures of Canada's First Nation peoples.

CN Tower
Defining the Toronto skyline at 553.33m (1,815ft5in), the CN Tower is Canada’s most recognizable and celebrated icon. The CN Tower is an internationally renowned architectural triumph, an engineering Wonder of the Modern World, world-class entertainment and dining destination and a must see for anyone visiting Toronto.

Kensington Market
Kensington market. During the 1920s, it was known as the Jewish Market where you can sense the city's rich, multicultural mix, obvious in the shops packed with goods from Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, South America and Asia. A visit to Kensington is like a sensory trip around the world. It's also a treasure trove of vintage and second hand clothing shops, tucked in among eclectic restaurants and cafés. Kensington Market is not a stall market, but instead a neighbourhood of stores, restaurants, services and residents.

Street Art
Meander the back alleys along Queen Street West and see some of the city's best street art. It's like a free exhibit showcasing immense talent.
Grab a hot chocolate or gingerbread latte from the nearby Jimmy's Coffee (a Toronto fave located on Portland Avenue) to keep those fingers warm.

Day 3. Monday 30th December. TORONTO - NIAGARA FALLS - TORONTO
After breakfast at the hotel we will board our coach for a full day trip to visit Niagara Falls and the town of Niagara on the lake.

Comprised of three waterfalls — American Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Bridal Veil Falls — Niagara Falls water stems from the upper Great Lakes and the river is estimated to be 12,000 years old. The wonder of the falls has intrigued many and has prompted daredevils to “conquer” the falls in various contraptions from wooden barrels to rubber balls.

Upon arrival we have free time to spend exploring the falls, Clifton Hill and table rock before a tour of the winery at Niagara on the lake and a wine tasting.

Our coach will drop us back to the hotel in the early evening when we can go out for a walk, bite to eat or relax.... whatever we fancy doing.

Day 4. Tuesday 31st December. TORONTO
Leisurely day or.... for those that would like to.... skate downtown with the skyscrapers towering over you and even under major overpasses.

The Brentway trail is transformed into a unique, 220-metre figure-8 skate trail running under the Gardiner Expressway overpass. The skates can be rented rented for $12.

Shop till you drop at The Eaton Centre on Yonge Street. A shoppers Paradise...

This evening we will enjoy our last dinner of 2024 and Bring in 2025 with a Boat Party on Jubilee Queen Cruises with music provided by Toronto's best DJs and views of the Toronto Skyline. HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Day 5. Wednesday 1st January. TORONTO
Free Day with the option to join for a delicious lazy lunch locally venue TBC. What better way to start the new year.

Day 6. Thursday 2nd January. TORONTO -MONTREAL
We are off to the second destination of our Canadian winter adventure today as after check out and taking our transfer to Union Station we will board the train to Montreal. Our journey will take around 5 and a half hours and the railway route provides amazing views as it goes along Lake Ontario coastline and through Canada's gem, the Charleston Lake Provincial Park.

Upon arrival in Montreal we will take our private transfer to our gorgeous Inn, The Auberge Bons Matins where we will be staying for the next 4 nights.

Auberge Les Bons Matins is a lovely inn with country charm which comprises of three large heritage houses, is situated in the heart of downtown Montreal with its skyscrapers and beautiful skyline. Do check it out, it is a beautifully decorated tiny place with only 17 rooms.

Nearby we will find the Bell Center, Crescent Street, the vibrant & trendy Griffin town neighborhood, the Museum District and not to be forgotten, the famous St. Catherine Street, the city's main shopping street.

Please note if you are paying the higher priced supplement your room will have a bath and if you are paying the lower supplement your room will have a shower. Breakfast is not included.

This evening we will head for dinner in this amazing foodie destination.

Day 7 Friday 3rd January. MONTREAL.
Lets begin exploring Montreal and it's history today with visits to the Notre Dame Basilica du Montreal (one of the most beautiful catholic basilicas in North America and the Pointe A Calliere Museum. (Entrance tickets Included) The museum shows how Montreal grew from an Iroquoian village into a missionary colony.
Natives frequented the site for at least 4,000 years before the French founded a town there in 1642. The colony continued to develop, becoming the gateway to the French colonies in North America, the fur trade, and later the first great Canadian metropolis.

Free afternoon to further explore as we choose.

Mount Royal
A magnificent urban green space featuring 200 hectares of astonishing biodiversity and natural beauty. Green, clean and refreshing, the mountain is home to a wide range of flora and fauna and is open to enjoy every day of the year, lets wrap up warm and enjoy a walk here.

Museum of fine Arts
Art dedicated to interior spaces, self-identity, and other reflective topics. All the art is presented in a visually appealing way that hits you hard and makes you forget the world and get lost inside them. The museum part holds artifacts and sculptures dating back to the Roman empire and other ancient dynasties.

Other must-visit museums and art galleries in Montreal are McCord Stewart Museum, Musee D'Art Contemporain De Montreal, and Imagine Van Gogh.

Pullman Wine Bar - If you are a wine lover.
Pullman, Montreal’s finest wine bar is one of the best places to visit in Montreal during winter because of its warm atmosphere. It boasts a collection of 400 wines. Apart from its wide variety of delicious tasting wines, the bar also offers a soothing atmosphere along with a menu serving a variety of cheese, chocolates, croutons, and other side dishes.

The best place to explore by foot is Rue St Paul the oldest (and most iconic) street in Montreal. This street has over 2,400 years of history – some of its cobblestones pre-date the entire United States!
Approximately one mile long, Rue Saint-Paul was first built in the 1670s and was the center of North American fur trade for decades.

Sugar Shacks are a very important part of an annual tradition in Canada. A sugar shack is a small wooden house built in the middle of the maple forest for making maple syrup. Please note that the harvest and high season are march and April but we will enjoy a small visit of the maple syrup production facility showing the equipment used and even get to learn how to play the traditional wooden spoons.

All you can eat served at your table family style traditional sugar shack feast, including Traditional pea soup, Fresh baked bread, Omelette soufflé, Lumberjack’s meat pie, Maple glazed ham and Old style mashed potatoes.

Day 8. Saturday 4th January. MONTREAL - QUEBEC
It's the third Canadian city that get's a visit today on a full day tour to Quebec, the historic heart of French Canada located on the St Lawrence River.

The oldest settlement in North America, this capital city’s charming narrow streets and quaint neighborhoods are steeped in fascinating history. See Notre Dame Basilica, the Parliament Building, Ile d'Orleans and the Plains of Abraham, where the famous battle between the French and English took place in 1759.

Then admire views of Montmorency Falls, an incredible waterfall and emblem of the city seated between the Montmorency River and the St Lawrence River. This magnificent natural gem is taller than Niagara Fall! There is a lunch stop during the day (not included)

Evening drop off back at our hotel.

Day 9 Sunday 5th January. MONTREAL
Late morning we embark on an exclusive Secret Food Tour. A journey through the vibrant Mile End district. We will Immerse ourselves in a culinary exploration strategically located at the crossroads of diverse cultures, allowing us to savour the city's finest culinary offerings. Delicious!

A final dinner locally.

Day 10. Monday 6th January. MONTREAL - UK
Today after we have checked out we have the day to explore further before we take our private transfer to the airport in the evening.

With time to relax in Hurghada at 2 beautiful hotels, a 3 night Nile cruise and visits to all of the top "Must See" sights in Egypt. This is really not to be missed. What a perfect way to start 2025!

Day 1. Sunday 29th December. Hurghada
After meeting at the airport we will meet the rest of the group and board our flight. Upon arrival in Hurghada we will take our private transfer to our hotel.

We will be sharing twin rooms at the Golden Beach Resort on an all inclusive basis, sharing twin rooms. There is also the option to have a room to yourself for an additional £385 for the trip. This will need to be paid at the same time as the balance.

Featuring a private sandy beach along the Red Sea, Golden Beach Resort is an all-inclusive holiday resort about 15 km northwest of Hurghada. It has 7 restaurants and 8 bars.

Set in a lush garden with palm trees, Golden Beach Resort has air-conditioned rooms with private balconies overlooking the sea.

The hotel has a Heated Aqua park with 12 Slides, tennis courts, a minigolf course, and diving classes can be arranged at the beach.

Day 3. Tuesday 31st December. Hurghada - Cairo
At 12:00 noon we will transfer from our hotel in Hurghada to Cairo, arrive at our hotel and meet our guide for a briefing explaining the tour itinerary. Overnight stay at our 4* Pyramids Resort by Jaz hotel in Cairo with New Year Gala Dinner.

Day 4. Wednesday 1st January. Cairo
Today we tour the City of Cairo, beginning with the Egyptian Museum where you may view the treasures of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, then to the Coptic area to visit the Hanging Church, and then into Mohamed Ali Mosque and Saladin Citadel. Afterwards we make our way to the old Cairo Bazaar, Khan El Khalili, with its maze of intriguing alleyways that are home to numerous souvenir stalls and coffee shops. Overnight stay at our 4* hotel in Cairo.

Day 5. Thursday 2nd January. Cairo - Aswan
After breakfast we start the tour by visiting the awe-inspiring Great Pyramids and the Sphinx at the Giza Plateau, before heading to Sakkara to visit the Step Pyramid - the first completed pyramid in Egypt - as well as ancient Pharaonic tombs. Overnight on sleeper train to Aswan.

Day 6. Friday 3rd January. Aswan. Nile Cruise
Arrive in Aswan. Transfer to our Nile Cruise. We begin the day with a tour of the romantic Philae Temple - perched atop a picturesque island, its beautiful location is reached by small motor boat, making a truly magnificent approach to the site. Overnight on our Nile Cruise.

Day 7. Saturday 4th January. Nile Cruise. Kom Ombo
Sail down the Nile in style, relaxing on deck whilst observing rural life on the shores and taking in the changing landscape of the mighty river. Today we visit the temple of Kom Ombo - its perfectly symmetrical twin entrances overlook the spectacular riverside. Continue along the Nile towards the city of Luxor, often described as the world’s greatest open-air museum and home to some of the grandest monuments that have survived from ancient Thebes. Overnight on our 5* Nile Cruise. *Optional extra: Visit Abu Simbel - the stupendous Sun Temple of Ramses the Great, located at the southernmost tip of ancient Egypt’s borders.

Day 8. Sunday 5th January. Nile Cruise- Luxor. Nile Cruise.
After breakfast, we arrive in Luxor, beginning the day with a tour of the East Bank of the Nile. Here you will experience the immense Karnak Temple, considered by some as Egypt’s most important Pharaonic site - the country’s powerhouse of ancient times; as well as the magnificent Luxor Temple where visitors are greeted by the impressive Avenue of Sphinxes. Overnight on our 5* Nile Cruise.

Day 9. Monday 6th January. Luxor- Hurghada
After breakfast we explore the West Bank of Luxor, starting the tour with the world famous Valley of the Kings, the richest archaeological site on earth. Then on to the breath taking Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir al-Bahri), built for the only woman to reign over Egypt as pharaoh. Finally we visit the great Colossi of Memnon - the last remains of Amenophis III's temple. We then take the A/C bus to Hurghada for a further three nights relaxing at The Arabia Azur Hotel.

This all-inclusive Red Sea resort offers an outdoor Olympic pool, a long private beach and private pier. It offers rooms with balconies overlooking the sea, 5 minutes’ drive from Hurghada’s bustling Al Sakala district.

Decorated with pastel colours, Arabia Azur’s rooms come with floor-to-ceiling windows opening to a balcony or terrace with sea or pool views. Each is equipped with minibar and a satellite TV.

We can spend a lazy afternoon on loungers on the hotel’s private beach or beside the sports pool and explore the lagoon reef, just off the sandy beach. The health club offers relaxing body treatments and a gym.

The Arabia Azur Hotel covers a wide range of cuisines, Oriental and modern fusion. The Marina Beach Bar offers cocktails and buffet meals accompanied with Red Sea views.
